I see Liverpool are offering Harry Wilson out for a season long loan for a £4M fee. Would you?

Not sure. Scores from a few free kicks but not convinced he’s consistently good enough and buckle down to tues-sat-tues football plus whether he’s worth that fee plus wages.

Reactions: remote and clingo
colin said he would like to get signings early, just saying.
Agree with the thinking. Would be good for signings to have a full pre-season with us to hit the ground running, especially the 3 starters he's after.
Though he got in early last year with Murphy and Reid.<doh>

......and he consistently played the two loanees he got in with an hour to go to the deadline instead. <doh>

I think we have to assume at this point that Etheridge is leaving. I can't see teams not paying 10m or above for him. Smithies needs to step up.. Or we sign an alternate keeper.

I don't begrudge Etheridge another shot at the Premier League, however I would see it as a bit of a kick in the teeth considering Colin gave him a massive chance to prove himself.

The implication I was making.
It's the right approach, just needs to be followed through on.
Get the 3 starters in early and worry about the 3 squad players in slower time. Easier said than done I know.
We need at least 1, preferably 2 centre mids to start pre season. We could possibly you into the start of the season with what we've got then. Add the rest in over the first month.

I remember DJs first season. He signed a player on the Thursday and started him on Saturday. Gave him a piece of paper before kick off with his team mates names on.<laugh>

Whatever the views regarding the playing or otherwise of Reid/Murphy, Arter and Camarasa were and are better players. I would like to have seen both signed full time.

Reid and Murphy will have full opportunity to show their talents in the coming season.

We can discuss this all day with varying opinions but the key to how we do will get on will be the early integration of our main signings as described by Remote.

Sorry Bluey, but Arter is a headless chicken who sets his stall out from the off by intimidating the oppostion to the extent that he was lucky to stay on the pitch a few times. He chases and harries - that's his game.

You have to admire his enthusiasm but he lacks any finesse. If you need a dog, then he is it - the trouble was we already had another dog in Gunnar and the creativity died. Howe didn't want him in his side (who attempt to play football) or even at the club, and that speaks volumes.

Camarasa was playing in the wrong side - the style just didn't suit him. He had very little opportunity to settle into his natural game because there were very few players on the pitch who were on the same wavelength and he suffered as a result. He was often like a fish out of water not knowing what he was supposed to do - get forward or drop back.

Reid and Murphy are the sort who would have brought the best out of him which I'm convinced we never saw. I'm not saying we would have ammassed more points last season with those two on the pitch along with Camarasa, but we would certainly have enjoyed the football a lot more.

All conjecture and water under the bridge I know, but it's all good forum chat. <ok>

Sparks, Bournemouth's game had evolved and possibly Arter was no longer the fit he once was. But 232 games for Cherries and 29 goals showed Howe took his time in getting rid of him. <whistle> The fans there still loved him.

Yes, Victor was probably a thought ahead of most of our team but haven't we cried out for a mf with some imagination for years?

I have given my opinion many times on Reid and Murphy but expect them to do much better in the Championship. Possibly their level?
