Barcelona have signed France striker Antoine Griezmann from La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid after paying his 120m euros (£107m) buyout clause.

His new buyout clause is 800 million euros.

Athletico are going to take Barca to court for an extra 80mil claiming that first contact was made before the buyout clause dropped from 200mil to 120mil. Considering Greizman said he was leaving AM in May, they might just win it too.

To those pretending they've already forgotten the name of Mallik Wilks, and couldn't care less.
A virtual :emoticon-0167-beer: bet (or a proper one if I'm unfortunate to meet up with certain of you one day) you will know his name in years to come. BTW, GMcC happens to agree with me.

You may well be correct on that but I believe the point was an alleged club sleight of hand in reporting/actioning a medical for a lad with zero intent on having him hold a City shirt in front of a HDM photographer.

Not quite right matey, many were questioning our intent to buy Wilks for around 1.2 million and it was suggested that we offered low wages to lose the deal.

One poster then said the player had been for a medical, others then pointed out that there had been nothing in the media about any medical or "having anyone hold a City shirt in front of a HDM photographer"

Just back from holidays on mull of kintyre and saw a young lad play for Campbeltown we could sign. Don't know his name but plays no9. Will prob sign for 3 turnips and a deep fried Mars bar.

Aye, he’s highly rated apparently. Locals say he sweeps across the pitch like a deer in the glen. When the mist rolls in from the sea, their desire is always to be there to watch him. They reckon his style of play is reminiscent of being sung to by a heavenly choir.

Several of Europe’s elite are monitored his progress. Far have they travelled and much have they seen but they think this lad makes the sunset look like it’s on fire.

He’s called Campbell by the way.

They all are.

I'm sure you are right. The word amongst solicitors in Leeds is that Barnsley offered him a four year contract. Hull City offered one year, with an agreement to extend by (initially) two years if Wilks is in a position to play.

The key date seems to be 20th May 2020.

The group I was talking to felt City had it right, and don't expect Wilks to be available for some time after that date.

Make what you like of this "rumour".

Blimey, whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Nobody is pre judging the case, but would you agree to pay someone for 3 or 4 years if there is a chance they'll only be around for 1?

No doubt City (and others) will have taken legal opinion on the case. Looks like Hull (and Leeds) got a different opinion to Barnsley.

Time will tell who was right.

Either way, you have to feel for Wilks, losing his brother like that, facing a court case and then being sold to Barnsley.

£1.2 million tells me its likely bollox

Same thing so far as I can tell. Moody medical, minimum wage offer or hiding behind the KC curtains with the light off when he knocked - any excuse not to sign him. Just seems improbable, despite relentless Allam twatery abound, that the club is reporting signings when it has no intention of following through with it. If this is their plan, it’s not a very good one.

I take your point but it wouldn't be hard to have a clause in the contract which renders it null and void in the event of a criminal conviction.

It’s unlikely, if he gets sent to prison, Barnsley will be able to terminate his contract, so both options would have the same outcome.

Why would you need to?
If someone gets sent down then you just terminate their contract as they can’t meet their contractual obligations

Tafazolli, all reports I've seen so far regarding him have been positive, granted the opposition not been championship standard, but yet he's not been signed up as of yet, will it be a case of us getting this guy fit for some other club to nick him, the only reason I can think off is that Tafazolli and city cant agree on terms.

P.S. the sun's Alan Nixon is saying we've got competition from Blackpool for his signature
