This could be true but it would seem at odds with his very positive tweets. E.g.
"@RvWolfswinkel9: Always good to be back home in Norwich. New season, new focus. Starts now!"
Doesn't sound too desperate to get away. Sounds more like a plea to Norwich fans to let him start the season with a clean slate.

I have to say I don't think Adams values workhorse sluggers over higher profile skilfull players.
I'd say he values pace above most things, the Wolfswinkel staying behind was more to do with the board telling Adams he has to go.
I think an imbalance of power of the board over the squad could be developing that I don't think has been present over the last 5 years.
I'm getting an impression of amateurism, cheapness, and people making decisions that shouldn't be in a position to do so. We've already had 2 debacles with Royle and the tour not to mention the player who chose Bournemouth over us.
The set up just doesn't feel right and it is starting to smell like the pre-Lambert era.
I think any accusation levelled at the board of being "cheap" or "penny pinching", is a little harsh and doesn't really stack up with the facts, other than we allegedly missed out on Mackay and got a cheaper option in Adams (we don't know the true reasons there though).
It's important to bear in mind that we've lost half our income by getting relegated. It's not an option, without a wealthy benefactor. We don't want to do a Portsmouth. I'd rather our club was managed prudently, than they overreach themselves pushing for promotion.
That being said, the debacle in Italy was very amateurish. The Royle switch sounds more unlucky than anything else, though it' snot very impressive.
Don't care about the striker going to bournemouth. That was the correct career decision for him, and I'd rather see players choose game time over wages, as a rule, even if Norwich City miss out on the odd up-and-coming player every now and again. I bet we've missed out on many targets over the last few years, it's just they tend not to be made public.
"Penny pinching"? What are you on about? Football is a business, not a charity, I'm not quite sure what you mean?

Going for the cheap options and lacking ambition, the way I see it we've got one shot at getting promoted another season in the Championship and a lot of our players will jump ship, we'll effectively become a generic Championship club, the board need to throw every current resource we've got at getting back in the Premiership and if we fail at that they need to have a plan B to stop whatever rot sets in.
As our squad stands at the moment then yes rubbish, but if in the next week we sell Leroy, Redmond, Tettey Hooper and RVW then we are going to be settling in for a long spell in the lower leagues.I'm sorry, but that is absolute rubbish

And if we buy Messi, Ronaldo and Iniesta we'll be bankrupt! Ifs and buts...........
Something I can agree with SN23 for a change. If we can keep Leroy, Redmond, Tettey Hooper then I will feel more optimistic about the new season, but if they go I can see us being a mid table team and will lose the better players we've still got.
But once a premier league team comes calling I can understand that player wanting to go no matter how disappointing it is. We may not need the money, but it's no good keeping a player if they wish to play in the top league.
