Yep, can't see how he bottled it, we absolutely killed his confidence with how we played.

He had a big price, big fanfare and then for some strange reason played with inversed wingers who couldn't pass and nobody to break up his congested area. Shocking tactics from a shocking manager, thank goodness he's gone.

At least Adams will promote attacking football, whether he'll be successful I'm not so sure.

He scored 1 goal and then demands a transfer because we lost our premier status mainly through a lack of goals , perhaps he could try and repay the £30k month we spent when he was suffering with turf toe..

Don't be shy wearing the shirt if you go shopping at Morrisons in Newquay. My canary mate and I work there part time.

Couple of points from Adams (via Paddy Davit), Gary O'Neil has trained twice with the team and a deal seems imminent, would be a good signing especially on a free. RvW is currently in France for a medical with a view to a season long loan, however not yet a done deal. No offers has been submitted for Fer and he returns to the squad as planned on Monday.

Yes he scored 1 goal last season but you're ignoring the reasoning behind it. He demanded a transfer? that's the first I've heard about, got a link?

That's not proof he requested a transfer, you can't just make up facts lol.

In 4 years they will both be playing for Holland in Russia ,and we should try & hold on to them as the price tag will only increase...

We've only got one shot at this in my opinion, another season in the Championship will kill off our squad, I'd rather see us keep the squad together and throw everything we've got at getting promoted. RVW has a massive point prove and he'll have the hunger to score goals after last season, Adam's will provide him with a system where he will flourish, I just think sadly as a manager he seems to value workhorse sloggers over skilful higher profile players.

Based on what? he's brought Wes and Surman back into the squad both skilful creative player and seems to be working hard to get the best out of Redmond, obviously they put a proper shift in but that should be expected from every professional footballer. He hasn't had the option to play Fer yet as he's not joined up with the squad yet and Ricky has been injured and seems to not be up for playing in the championship. With regards to the players he's brought in test they have strength but also both seem to have something about them in terms of actual play.
If anything Adams seems to value skilful creativity far more than he predecessor, there's not evidence that he has in anyway tried to force out Ricky or Fer (the two i assume your on about) intact he seems to be trying to keep Fer, despite it looking somewhat futile. You made a decision that you didn't want Adams as manager and ever since have been making things up about his style of management based on zero evidence. It's getting pretty tiresome.

A big part of it is down to RVW being quite happy on social media and openly commenting on getting back to fitness, he was still doing light training even when 'apparently' being sidelined by a lot of people, so why didn't he go out to Italy and train or be in the presence of the coaching team? In pre-season he has one half or so against the mighty Braintree Town and a development team game, knocks aside if you were the manager wouldn't you want to keep one of your main strikers around the coaching staff and the rest of the players? You could accuse me of reading into things a little bit too much but hey to be brutally honest with you I really couldn't give a toss if you find my opinion tiresome.

I have to say I don't think Adams values workhorse sluggers over higher profile skilfull players.

I'd say he values pace above most things, the Wolfswinkel staying behind was more to do with the board telling Adams he has to go.
I think an imbalance of power of the board over the squad could be developing that I don't think has been present over the last 5 years.

I'm getting an impression of amateurism, cheapness, and people making decisions that shouldn't be in a position to do so. We've already had 2 debacles with Royle and the tour not to mention the player who chose Bournemouth over us.

The set up just doesn't feel right and it is starting to smell like the pre-Lambert era.

Valid points Northants and carrabuh and this is after all a forum for everyone to express their views.

According to a report in today's EDP, it seems RvW is in France for talks and I think it would be a good move for him and maybe allow him to get his scoring touch back with a team that goes out to attack, team mates who will pass the ball to him and weaker defenders - if he starts regularly, then I can see him scoring between 10 and 15 goals. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...posed_st_etienne_loan_move_1_3710309#cxrecs_s

I have to agree that the board does seem to be 'penny pinching' which IMO is a VERY bad idea. I know several on here wished we'd recruited Malky as manager (not my choice I might add, nor is NA) , but I heard he wasn't willing to accept not being in full charge of all team issues.

We'll soon get a feeling of how the season may turn out by the time we get to the end of this month!!

Considering to date we've sold ONE player for very good money and loaned out another, I wouldn't say the board are exactly penny pinching. Let's be honest, we were always likely to lose 3 or 4 of our best players.

How ever, if we enter Southampton mode and sell Fer, Redmond, Olsson, Hooper & Tettey too then my opinion will change. I'm expecting to see atleast Fer definitely go. The others, there's no reason why they shouldn't stay.

"Penny pinching"? What are you on about? Football is a business, not a charity, I'm not quite sure what you mean?

i have been doing a little bit of digging in the last week or so - certainly since before any news about rvw leaving broke - as i was concerned that he was being frozen out by adams and from what i can gather it is very much a club hierarchy decision rather than that of adams or the player. as soon as an offer came along to rid the club of all his wages they took it. unfortunately i'm unable to elaborate any further as i simply don't know anything else but my guess is that if adams had truly wanted rvw to stay he'd have made sure the board knew it. he didn't, so he's going.

on a side note, i think its a cracking move for rvw - not so good for us. he might not have shown it last season but we are letting our most gifted striker leave the club. i doubt he'll ever play for us again.

My reading of the RvW situation is that when asked if he was willing to stay and fight for promotion he said he's rather go out on loan to develop his career, but that would depend on the right offer coming in. If it didn't, he'd stay and honour his contract. I've never bought the 'club forcing him out' argument. When the numbers were released it was an indication of this, as were the signings of Grabban and Lafferty and the attempt to sign Wilson. I hoped the offer wouldn't come and that he would stay, but it has and he isn't. IMO, the tweets were diplomatic and skillfully handled. I don't think the situation is much different than that of Snodgrass, and the outcome is in the interest of all at the end of the day. We can't afford to have any players who aren't wholeheartedly committed to the cause for this push for promotion.

This could be true but it would seem at odds with his very positive tweets. E.g.

"@RvWolfswinkel9: Always good to be back home in Norwich. New season, new focus. Starts now!"

Doesn't sound too desperate to get away. Sounds more like a plea to Norwich fans to let him start the season with a clean slate.
