Not seen this mentioned anywhere - though it would make sense. Any links?

Couldn't you lot loan RVW out after the 23rd? I was looking forward to seeing him playing against us...mind you, I'll be behind the goal in the SBRL, I guess those by the corner flags or in row Z wouldn't be looking forward to seeing him play so much. ;)

I don't really see how we benefit from this deal. I would have liked him part of the team this year I have to admit. He isn't at all a bad player just never had the right service. Hooper has to stay now.

Becks hits a brace - fantastic stuff. Could this be the start of something great from him in a canary shirt ? <whistle>

Interesting to see that Strotford had beaten the Tescoes previously - anyone seen Mikey ??

Can't see the point in loaning RVW out, just because he had a bad 1st season with us, look at Iwan Roberts - look how he turned out, after his poor 1st season. We should just give him a chance to show what he can do under Neil Adams attacking football - he could just surprise us.

But it's not as simple as that, he's made it pretty clear via his agent that he doesn't want to play in the Championship for whatever reason, so what is the point of keeping an unhappy player - a very expensive one at that - here when he's not happy and unlikely to perform at his best because of that?

RvW looks reasonable, but £100k a week for Bassong and Becchio? How does that work out?

Speaking of Becchio, he scored a brace for the U21s

Changing the subject slightly, the Huddersfield Examiner is saying "Middlesbrough could be set to complete the loan signings of as many as three Chelsea youngsters, with Nathan Ake, Nathaniel Chalobah, Patrick Bamford and Christian Atsu all possible targets". Nathan Ake is a CB/DM who played against us in the youth cup final and Bamford had a very good season for Derby last year, scoring 8 goals in 21 matches. Sort of players we should be interested in?

    Two benefits:
    (1) we don't have an unhappy player being paid massive wages
    (2) he might recover form, and therefore value

Admittedly (2) is only a possibility, but even then he's not going to lose much value over one year with the amount of time left on his contract, so it's a better bet for us.

I think he meant for all three - fairly sure Bassong was on £40-45k pw (though some was paid by Tottenham for a while I believe) and Becchio was rumoured to have been handed £25-30k pw (madness!), so I think Munky's conservative estimate of £100k pw for all of them sounds about right, it just doesn't take into account relegation clauses (because we don't know what they are).

I don't where all this stuff about him being unhappy has come from? He has probably felt more forced out hence his agent coming looking for a move. He hasn't said anything to suggest he is unhappy, on the contrary he stated he was raring to go on Twitter.

Will RvW leaving mean we get another striker in or do people think Adams will settle for Lafferty, Hooper, Grabban, Loza and Becchio?

Cant see Becchio staying personally and im not sure Loza is ready to be challenging for a starting place? But then I havent seen much of him. Is he ready for champ level?

got a feeling there might be one more to come in - think it would be a bit off to keep becchio any longer than we already have - meaning there is room for another...quite fancy britt assambolonga down the road at peterborough (complete guess at spelling that) -

christian atsu might be off to middlesborough on loan? would love to see that guy in canary yellow...

if we do lose Fer, which is looking more and more likely - got my heart set on Adam Forshaw - got a feeling he's going to have a big season...
