I think it is fabulous that Hughton, apparently, invented the inverted winger just to annoy Pinkun posters.
My view is Snodgrass, along with Pilkington and Hooper are all proven goalscorers and should be kept, whether out of contract or not at the end of the season. For the sake of potentially losing a few million transfer fee.You get.
Improved chances of promotion,
Chances of retaining IF you get promotion
Premiership players on Championship wages
Less disruption
This season is our best chance to go back up. There is quite possibly no player in the Championship as good as Snodgrass.

no matter who remains, we should have one of the best squads in the division

You only get all these benefits of keeping quality players if those players want or are prepared to stay. A player who wants to move and is prevented, by whatever means, is not just going to forget it and give us a 110% for the cause. Players are professional for most part of course, but they are also not Robots, psychologically we need them invested in getting us promoted or we may as well sell.
And from what is coming out of CR that seems to be the case with very few dissenters. If we keep the bulk of the squad we should be O.K. but it won't be easy, far from it.

Snoddy strikes me as a player that wants to play at the top level but he also seems quite happy at Norwich. I think either way it goes with him is acceptable. We either keep a very talented player or we make a decent profit on him. It's a nice position we find our selves in.
Why will we need a replacement. Redmond and Bennett are more than capable of rising to our needs. Maybe not as technically capable but much more pace to unnerve defenders, and still not the finished article. Buying a new player will just stunt their development.

Whilst I can understand this logic, my concern would be injuries, which would leave the Murphy brothers as possible replacements. Grabban can play wide, but I'd guess that would be more of a 4-3-3 formation than one with wingers. If Adams is looking that way, we might be all right, but I'd much rather Snodgrass stays.
