I'd take that money for Gaston, happily. I also think that it could prove to be good business for Milan, where a 12.5m occasional-starter-and-high-impact-sub actually works financially.

Didn't Bamford destroy our under 18's in the FA Youth Cup a few years back when he was at Forest? If so, he aint welcome here.

Thats the chap..didn't he get 5 goals?

I do think we should be looking at the bigger clubs for players that they're wasting as I think we would get better value for money. 7th choice Chelsea striker will cost less than 1st choice Burnley striker.
I'd prefer us to pick these players up as purchases rather than loans.

Yeah, more deals like the Cork one would be fine by me. Bamford definitely seems to have his head screwed on right.

Bamford wouldn't be anywhere near as cheap, but no disagreement on the idea. They have a number of young players who might be available as they give sell-to-buy a whirl for FFP reasons...also curious whether they expect Lucas Piazon to crack the squad or whether he could become a departure.

Wonder what Bamford's wage is at Chelsea. Bet it is something crazy like 35k.

Jay's injury has just confirmed what Saints have always known....we need another striker, hence buying Osvaldo. On that basis and considering Jay's form, we would hardly sell him to Arsenal or anyone else. Arsenal's interest (if real) will have been put on the back burner...they wouldn't be interested until the January window at the earliest.

People need to realise that we are not going to be getting Begovic.

He is an ex Pompey player and will most likely have no interest.

Ain't necessarily so. Players go along with fans' prejudices at the time, but most drop them as soon as they move on. Imagine if you'd been at four clubs and refused to join their rivals....would cut down your options a bit.

Now that's a rumour I'd like to believe. Complete and utter tosh, until the transfer window opens and Saints make a bid, though. Dare I say, it ticks all the right boxes..?
