Rumours true or not spread like measles. What player wouldn't give a thought to joining ManU...but I doubt he has spoken publically about it.

Most player are on a loyalty bonus if they don't try to force a transfer through. Also he is only 1 year into his current contract. So it's not really his choice, but the question is whether ever player has there price? It will be an interesting summer!

You're right of course Beefy, but have you ever seen a club so determinedly undermined by Press speculation and hype..? I know the Club can ignore 99.9% of it because they know of any approaches, rejections, contentment within the squad, etc... Whereas, the average fan actually knows diddly-squat, if truth is told, and are prepared to believe anything when there is nothing that suggests the opposite. If the Club comes out and say honestly, everything is OK, the very next tiny rumour undermines the whole situation again. Look at Luke Shaw's personal denials last season, so as to reassure Saints fans. Didn't stop the Press speculation for a second, so he gave up trying.

It's actually quite easy to see why the average Saints fan worries. The trick is to turn off the alarm bells in one's head.

Yep, it's outrageous how many of our players are linked away.

Think if aston villa a few years ago; Milner, young and Barry were their star players, and exactly the same kept happening. They were all sold, despite their club being owned by a wealthy owner.. I'm not saying we will go down the same route, but it is easy to see why people are worrying.

It's not necessarily bullshit, but there is a key word which must be included:

    They are going to TRY.

I am beginning to think that there must be a sweepstake, going around the national rag offices, on who "leaves" Saints and how many!
How many times does this club have to say, No none of our players are for sale!

Heres a message to all you garbage writers. WE DONT NEED TO SELL ANYONE! Now piss off and hound another club!
Finally a message for the so called big five.
BUILD YOUR OWN FFING ACADEMY! I have heard building a youth programme really works.

Teams like United may consider our players but they will also have their eyes elsewhere...so lets hope they have. Huge money may make commercial sense for KL et al...enabling us to pay off the cost of the Academy and purchase players that MP wants. However, cannot see us selling the core of the team...more likely one big sale. #keeplallanaasaint

I heard on Talkshite this morning Pompey have opened talks with Fatletiss as a replacement for the ageing Westwood, both parties are close to agreement but the sticking point is can Pompey spread the pie into 12 months installments, where as FLT wants his pie now and eat it.

He needs to be careful...if allowed to spread instalments, he may only get 20%.

See this is where rumours get things wrong... I actually said that I want my cake and to eat it. The pie I don't really mind how it comes.

I won't sign for that ****e anyway (not again, anyway <yikes>)

Truth is, Poch knows he can't trust Hooiveld to fill in for injuries/loss of form, etc... without making the odd major howler. It also means that the CBs aren't being pushed to play well. I'm not sure that Jose needs pushing too much however, because he has so much personal pride in his role at Southampton that he plays as well as he can. Yes, he makes the occasional [bad] error too, he's not Mr Perfect by any means, but just having Maya as backup to both He and Dejan is not ideal. We need two who can step in and be thoroughly trusted or take over for the duration.

We've come a long way. In League 1, several heads turned round if you yelled Danny on the training ground. Now we may have to be specific if we yell Gaston :)

I read that Graeme Le Saux has voiced his opinion on Luke Shaw, and whether he should move in in the summer. Le Saux's opinion..? Stay, at least for a few more seasons.
Well done Graeme. Always thought he was an intelligent LB player, and he makes a pretty intelligent pundit too. Ex-Saints, of course, but ex-Chelsea too, so if he says stay, you know he's saying it for the good of Luke.
