Swedish man wins bizarre Luis Suarez biting bet 175/1 - a smart bet given his past history in that department. please log in to view this image MANAUS, Brazil - A gambling firm in Sweden says it awarded a Norwegian man nearly $1,000 for betting that Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez would bite a player at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. http://www.torontosun.com/2014/06/25/swedish-man-wins-bizarre-luis-suarez-biting-bet In an email to the Associated Press, a spokesman for Bettson said the bettor won the prize on a 32 kroner bet (a little less than $5). The spokesman also told the AP that the online gambling site had received "six-figures" worth of Norwegian kroner on the Suarez proposition bet. Norway's largest newspaper, AftenPosten, reported Thomas Syversen as the winner. âI woke up just before it happened, so I was not awake,â Syversen told the paper. âI saw the incident on replays.â Following Uruguay's 1-0 win over Italy on Tuesday, a result that knocked the Azzurri out of the World Cup, FIFA announced it has opened an investigation in the alleged biting incident. Syversen posted a picture of his betting slip as proof of the win.
Hes had a 7 8 and 10 match bans already. Were looking at a dozen games plus or several months if they go for a global ban.
Even Aussie kids TV programmes are taking the piss!
I thought I was watching a POV video about being er, attended to by a rent boy in blue, set to music!
Wubba, how would you rate this menu: Suarez World Cup Menu Starter Vincent Kom-panini * Julio Cesar Salad * Mario Tagliatelli Main Shoulder of Lahm * Bacary Lasagna * Salmon Kalou Dessert Sergio Cheese and Basquets * Lionel "Eton" Messi * Roo-barb and Custard
It was stolen from a website who had the headline chewy Luis and the blues. I would have hoped FIFA would say another bite leads to a permanent ban but I suppose they can't legally do that.
....and on the cheese plate, Benoît's Assou-Ricotta cheese, which he can chomp down on as his heart desires.
Suarez obviously doesn't like the start of the season as he has managed to get himself banned from the start for two seasons on the trot. IMHO, the punishment is quite lenient. If Uruquay appeal as it looks like they will, then the ban for at least international matches should be increased for their insolence.
Exactly, it would be great if they extended the ban into the next tournament too. But they can only appeal the fine, their behaviour has been laughable. No wonder he goes round doing the stuff he does.
Suarez defence - can... you... believe.... it - unbelievable! He still hasn't come to terms regarding his transgression. Luis Suarez bite: 'I lost my balance and fell on Chiellini' please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Uruguay's Luis Suarez says he lost his balance and did not bite Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup. Football's world governing body Fifa banned Suarez, 27, for four months and nine international matches for biting Chiellini in a group match on Tuesday. Uruguay have told Fifa they intend to appeal against the decision. "I lost my balance, making my body unstable and falling on top of my opponent," wrote Suarez in his defence to Fifa. "At that moment I hit my face against the player leaving a small bruise on my cheek and a strong pain in my teeth." In a Fifa disciplinary committee document, the Liverpool striker added: "In no way it happened how you have described, as a bite or intent to bite." However, a seven-man Fifa panel concluded that the bite was "deliberate, intentional and without provocation". In its reasoning for the severity of the ban, Fifa added: "At no time did the player show any kind of remorse or admit to any violation of Fifa rules and therefore showed no awareness of having committed any infraction." Uruguay lodged their intention to appeal on Friday and have until next Sunday to submit a full written appeal. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/28069689
Its why they should add to his international ban if he appeals. That would be hilarious and also very just.
