A domestic ban would hurt his club more than him - he's shown after his two previous bans for biting and his ban for racially abusing Evra, that bans mean nothing to him. Liverpool could be seriously impacted if they cannot play him, both in results and revenue if they end up going out of Europe early and lose ground in the Premiership.

I don't know what the answer is, however. Reverse the Uruguay results at the world cup where he played? It'd put Italy through instead of them, and that'd put his entire nation against him....

I'm no expert in employment law but I have touched on it, if he gets a domestic ban as well as an international ban, Liverpool won't want to pay him wages while he can't play and he will be unsellable. You might see him done for gross misconduct and his contract cancelled. It could be the end of any meaningful career in football anyway. Adrian Mutu seemed to never recaptured his career after his exploits with cocaine at the scum. Just a different view point possibly.

They might not pay him but there's no way they'd cancel his contract.

That would only happen to a worthless player like SWP who's leeching of a club.

With footballers, I don't think sacking is ever really an option now at the top of the game, because it's not just an employee, it's an asset. It'd be like the FA deciding they don't want Lancaster Gate any more, tearing up the freehold and just vacating it.

Liverpool won't want to get rid of Suarez without getting adequate compensation for him in the form of either a transfer fee or compensation.

I hope he's not banned too long, he's fantastic to watch.

You could see how devastated he looked after the match, even though Uruguay had won. He clearly knew he's ruined his life again

Good.He deserves what he gets. I doubt it'll make any difference to him though, because as I have observed, he's been given lengthy bans three times now and still hasn't changed.

Why does it bother everyone so much? I'm not particularly personally offended by it; it's more amusing than anything. I'd be expressing similar levels of fury to everyone on this thread if he were our player, and it were us he'd let down.

The fact he looked so miserable post match shows he regretted what he did- which Implies he couldn't control his actions. If he's got some animalistic urge to bite people fostered by years on the Uruguayan streets, then I actually feel quite sorry for him. Something out of his control (his mental state) is turning him into a circus freak, and superseding his incredible talent.

We've got a player on our books who's committed far worse offences than Suarez, yet he's hero-worshipped from the terraces.
I'd be more disgusted if the guy had angrily lunged in with a reckless 2 footed challenge, & put Chiellini's career at risk

He looked miserable because he knew hes played his last match in the tournament.

There's no remorse or guilt. He just feels sorry for himself because he won't be allowed to play.
Someone who feels guilt does not do the same thing like that three times.

Someone who feels guilt would have apologised unreservedly, he's still trying to deny he did it as it the whole Uruguayan nation.

That's why he deserves to have the book thrown at him, even after the incident, He's still a low down cheating rat with zero signs of remorse.

They do if they have some psychological complex that means they can't control themselves. In my opinion his facial expression was more one of "oh crap I've done it again.."

Are you saying there was a reasoned, rational thought-process that occurred prior to the incident, in which suarez weighed up the pros/cons; deciding ultimately that biting was the preferable course of action?

Right after, his first reaction was to dive and get the Italian sent off through faking injury.

Even now, he still hasn't admitted guilt and hes had plenty of time for that supposed guilt to set in.

He's just a cheat. A cold calculating cheat with a mental streak.
Barton just has a mental streak, he comes clean once the moment passes, Suarez doesn't.

He'll probably avoid admitting to biting at all costs, because he knows how much it screwed things up for him last time. A bit cowardly maybe, but understandable. Chiellini's elbow did connect a bit, and most pros would dive n that instance. Again it was self preservation, trying to draw attention away from his total loss of control

Mr. Hyde even looks a bit like Suarez, and that's quite a set of teeth he has too?

At least he can keep fit if he is banned from playing.

Have you seen his home gym?

He liked the taste of Italy so much that he just had to return for another bite?

Feud?: Suarez appeared to try and bite Chiellini during a clash between Italy and Uruguay in the Confederations Cup 12 months ago

please log in to view this image

It came as Suarez's lawyer Alejandro Balbi claimed England and Italy are responsible for a witchhunt against him - telling Uruguayan radio: ‘We don’t have any doubts that this has happened because it’s Suarez involved, and secondly because Italy have been eliminated.
'There’s a lot of pressure from England and Italy. There is a possibility that they ban him, because there are precedents, but we’re convinced that it was an absolutely casual play, because if Chiellini can show a scratch on one shoulder, Suarez can show a bruised and almost closed eye.’

If he gets a slap on the wrist with a 3 match international ban, we better make sure we negotiate the best price possible while we still can, and dispense with him before he does do something that renders him utterly worthless. He's a bloody liability. Can't make any excuses for him.
