Some of the reaction on this thread is spot on but there's a palpable sense of anger in most of the posts and it comes across as a bit over the top. I can't help but think that some of it may be to do with what Suarez did last Thursday night as opposed to last night.
I think it's to do with the fact that only animals bite, gentlemen don't. He's done this on the pitch three times now, and lengthy bans clearly don't bother him. So the punishment needs to be severe enough that it DOES get through.
Last thursday is gone - that's not a factor in the anger shown here towards any 'player' capable of bringing this behaviour onto a football pitch.

There is something about biting and spitting that really gets football fans/players/pundits really wound up, a terrible tackle or elbow to the face is the real gentleman's way to go about maiming an opponent.
As a cowardly response to a stronger opponent it is right that Suarez gets a good long ban and if it upsets the Liverpool fans than all the better. I don't think I can suffer another season of seeing You'll never walk alone or even worse #YNWA all over Facebook - strange how many of my friends are Liverpool fans given that I grew up in Essex!

Liverpool fans are complete and utter ******s judging by the comments on the BBC site, they're that bad that I think they may be man u fans who are undercover.

Not me mate. Maybe he has a Norwegian lover covered in bite marks who knows him well enough, and got him to do an extra for her bank balance!
3 times?? I'd think a serious ban on the first offence would have been appropriate - three times - make it lifetime. Sorry 'bout that, Liverpool but you knew his reputation when you signed him
To think that Liverpool have probably seen £60 or £70m washed down the plug hole in that one moment.....what will their owners/board members think of that?
If the ban only covers International games, expect a hefty bid from Real or Barca, seeing as they were interested before and if FIFA remove the risk of his getting called up for internationals and potentially injured, he would ironically become worth even more...
They could win if he gets an international ban, they could lose if he gets a worldwide ban.
They could win if it puts other teams off buying him, they could lose if he's free to play and wants to leave.
Basically we haven't a clue yet until we know the punishment and if he leaves or not.
At least the scousers will be happy as they can go straight back into victim mode!

It's all speculation at the moment, but it was reported that he wants to leave Liverpool to play in Spain......they could have a valueless asset on their hands if any ban is applied domestically as well......would any club want to take a risk on him and the baggage that will accompany him in future.....

But his value may go up if its just an international ban and it may help him seal his dream move,
But any ban may also include champions league, in which case, his is just a huge laibility, wherever he is ?
If it includes that, it will include the domestic league which will really hurt him and Liverpool.
I hope they do that as he shouldn't benefit from just an international ban.
