Since when has Suarez worried about best interests other than his own? He is seen as an idol in Uruguay and won't let anything tarnish his reputation so if someone questions him I guarantee he responds.

Luis Suarez still does not know whether he will be able to leave Liverpool for Arsenal.

He apparently cannot wait to get away, and Arsenal are said to have offered £40 million to prise him out of Liverpool's grasp.

Suarez is a man with a reputation for biting more than the hand that feeds him, but his behaviour does raise the question of what constitutes loyalty nowadays.

There was a time when if you mentioned a Bobby Charlton or a Stanley Matthews, a particular club came instantly to mind. Does loyalty matter any more?

LFC do not have a house, how many times do you need to hear it guys. they have a contract, pure and simple and are only entitled to compensation for breaking the contract and handing over the registration. The only things that matter in this case are;

1. length of contract remaining

2. Clauses for buy out (do we need to hear it yet again)

3. Who wants the player to play for them.

4. What will the guy do when his ban is up and he wants to have a kick about.

As no-one on here has a crystal ball... nor are bothered to admit it.... you cannot tell me or anyone else about point 3 in January, nor about point 4. You just can't.

We know there are 3 years on his contract, we know his contract only initiates a discussion between player and club at 40mil and above. We simply cannot say who might bid in January or why and neither can we say what Suarez will do. Only he can decide that.

So I'd suggest We wait and see...... I offered that bet but there was no uptake.

I didn't take the bet as I was involved in trying to bring some reality into the market price argument. Now I would expand that reasoning but I have given my parole.

Things is you can't surely ascertain a market value of a certain product by one offer of purchase from one potential buyer.
better to look at what other products of similarity have been sold for what prices and the circumstances as those circumstances and conditions can add or subtract to the perceived value of the product, obviously.

FFS it's not rocket science.
There's a few outcomes to the next 5 months or whole season that may add to subtract from Liverpool's current evaluation.

If the **** plays well and scores 30 from 30 games, you can bet your bottom dollar that clubs watching him will see guaranteed goals, if he behaves also, we could be looking at 60 million+ if he scored that amount of goal. My only concern is that foreign clubs are all aware he wants out and can try do a Wenger but the club do not have to sell though there will be only two years on his contract.

Basically, good luck trying to figure out what we will actually get for him but I think at best if he plays well and scores loads, that will just help our current valuation hold rather than drop or increase

The concept of market value does not apply as the object (person) being valued is unique. The only true monetary value that can be attached to any player is the price that has been paid for them - and even that can be misleading. ALL other figures are speculative.

As for the man himself, I can't be arsed being offended by him- he's obviously the type that will go to almost any lengths to get what he wants and that's not too surprising given his background.
We don't have to like him, nor him us. If he stays and plays well I'll be happy with that. I'm not going to be one of those who says they don't want him here because they've taken umbrage at his attitude towards us. If he leaves I'm happy as long as he doesn't go to a rival (and by that I mean any PL club).

he's a human being not a product. its a contract compensation so all parties will have to negotiate when the time comes. lefc refused offers of 40mil end of story. market value doesn't come into it.

however that said yeah if he knocks a few in and goes to the WC then he could well go for 60mil next summer.... force major... buyer beware... etc etc. real madrid know bale must go for spurs to balance the books as spurs have spent their load. this is why real are turning the screw now about cooling interest.

LFC are not spending before they sell. if LFC get thier bid of a psg or some such then I am sure they will be happy to terminate the contract post haste.
