When will Suarez leave?

  • Pre-contract, gone 1st day

  • Gone in July

  • Gone in August

  • Gone on transfer deadline day

The concept of market value does not apply as the object (person) being valued is unique. The only true monetary value that can be attached to any player is the price that has been paid for them - and even that can be misleading. ALL other figures are speculative.

which is fair. every person is unique, just as gareth bale is unique.... looks like a character out of a 60's charlton heston movie but otherwise is unique. If he were to set the going rate for welsh players arsenal would be selling ramsey for 60mil.

every contract and player is indeed unique so it is down to all parties to agree the compensation required to break the contract. If lfc want to sell (they don't at this time) and suarez wants to go (and he does) and a club comes in (arsenal) then it is up to that club to come up with the means to break the contract. Arsenal did not ergo 40mil was not enough.... you could argue that 40mil on the 25th of May might well have been enough but that didn't occur then.... we will never know.

I would presume at this point LFC are working away on finding out things about other targets such as release clauses ;) player contract status, are clubs willing to sell and who is the guy they really want to play and IF someone is available in january and IF we can arrange a deal then .... well it will remain to be seen if someone bids again for suarez.

Entirely speculative as you say.

To suppose he will socre 30 goals is speculative and to suppose he'll sit idle and refuse to play for 6 months is also speculative.

I know, let's start a debate upon the theoretical concept of Price, then relate it to Value, then define what constitutes a Market (but try and avoid the niche/segment debate) and then relate it all to Suarez (so as to justify the effort) and then agree that Market Value is no better than a property auction Guide Price.

Seems to bring about some reaction from RHC ;)

I dont agree that there is no news.

Suarez has said that he is saying nothing whilst away on international duty, and has asked everyone else to say nothing also.

SO Suarez is saying nothing. Which has been pretty much the case for the whole summer, but it has still been news all summer.

I think we should speculate...... Suarez saying nothing is about as close to an apology as we are going to get, and he has accepted that he will be at Liverpool for the next 12 months.

I think we should bring Suarez back into the fold with Humour.....We should tell him that we need to get his oestrogen and progesterone levels, as his recent bitching and then refusal to apologise has ahighlighted to us that there is a good chance that if he doesnt want to play for Liverpools mens team, he could possibly be the star of our womens team.

I think the lads should form a gaurd of honor, get some kneod sticks and welcome suarez back to the club ECW style...
