OK, just putting this out here for debate... Suarez complains that the media in the UK are vilifying him constantly. What would be their best revenge? How about constantly re-printing an old interview (his interview in Uruguay) where he describes being flattered by the thought of Real being interested in him, and wanting to play in the CL? Put it on loop-tape for about three weeks and make it look like he's constantly looking to leave - run lurid headlines making claims not backed up even the the body text of the story. When the story comes out that an English club have had the temerity of bid for him (regardless of the result), this too gets Back-Page headlines. When he gets asked, his response is that 'its nice to be recognised for your work'; this is reworked into "Suarez to move for CL" even though no such utterance has been made. Press get to label him a hypocrite over moving in UK despite his avowed reason (UK Press are bastards and they hate me) and get the fans to join in turning on him. Well, I have to say it, the hacks certainly suceeded in getting the majority of fans on their side. Luis is increasingly getting labelled a Judas for what appears to me to be primarily responding honestly, if somewhat naively. Who wouldn't want to be recognised for their work, even if its by a rival company? And who wouldn't want to work for the highest profile company in their sector if they were being honest? Don't get me wrong, if we get a primary quote, reliably sourced, then I'll be happy to say I was wrong. And he may still put in a request and leave before 1st Sept. The club might receive a £40mil+ offer and decide to accept. But I'm not yet prepared to turn my back on Luis...
lol, he said he has 2 or 3 options & that he's keeping his phone with him as he doesn't want to miss any developments - that's on the BBC. To continue to say this is a work of fiction by the supposedly 'vindictive' British Press towards poor Luis is delusion off the scale imo.
Yeah but having had a meeting with his agent this week had the outcome been "Luis doesn't want to move at all" the club would have said so straight away. He wants out IMO and as long as the offer is big enough I'd be happy for the club to take it. Nothing to do with media influence btw I've made my thoughts on him quite clear often enough.
The specific quote is "There are two or three interested clubs and Liverpool know about this." not options. Also "You never know what's going to happen. A phone call could change my plans," he told a radio station in Uruguay. "I am talking with my agent and I always have my phone with me in case anything develops." So in actual fact, he's not said anywhere anything which isn't factual. He's not asked for a move. I expect that most players would be in this position during transfer windows. Also, its nice to know that radio stations in Uruguay transmit in English - stops all these 'lost in translation' errors
Seems there is more to the interview about Arsenal in that there is the flattery of that kind of bid but that the English ( not sure if he means media and teams or just teams) are showing support and that has boosted him that he can stay in England? I will try to find it somewhere, only saw a snip of it. EDIT: The striker, currently serving a ten-match ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, told Uruguayan radio station Sport 890: "That makes me think that I can come back and do things well over there. They [the press] have given it to me in England but, like we say, I've given them stuff to feed on because if I hadn't done anything then probably they wouldn't have been as bad. Oh come off it mate. The situation surrounding the player has been clear as day all summer, he's given a few interviews in which he's made it clear he fancies a move. To attempt to dress this up as 'lost in translation' & some form of innocent naivety is delusional, as given the press stories that have been printed as a result of these supposed 'mis-understandings' there's been no rebuttal from the player or his team to any of them........you'd have thought they'd have been eager to quash them if they were a mis-representation of the players feelings..........
...and just who is going to print the rebuttals? Do you seriously think that the hacks growing fat off the story are going to go for that? Where is the prominance in the story to Liverpool's insistance that the player is not for sale? Right at the end. One line. What is says that there is interest and he's flattered. If he wanted to get a move, he has an easy way - submit a request. The press will keep at this until 1 Sept.
haha, they print news, if he came out with a heartfelt rebuttal & claimed his words were out of context of course the press would print it ffs! They'll print anything that's considered newsworthy & that might sell a paper. There's also the big wide world of social media btw, just in case your conspiracy theory of poor old Luis's real feelings being kept out the press by the nasty hacks was true like.
Time for Henry and Ayre to tell Suarez and his agent that he can go at the right price. If that price is not achieved then he fulfills his contract. Simple really!
It obviously appears that with each passing day Luis is doing his best to get away from the club but the fact of the matter is he has only said 2 things: - British press are ****s - If Real Madrid wanted me that would be hard to say no to From that very first interview all we have seen is ridiculous articles like the below: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23238708 There are no quotes etc in these articles because they are simply made up to keep the story at the top of the pile. I don't agree with the interviews he has given and the way he has talked about 'maybe time for a change' and stuff like that but we are being led down roads that simply don't exist, just another journo twisting a few words of the original interview that occurred over a month ago.

That article has nothing to do with the original interviews he gave. That's either his agent leaking to the press that he's met with LFC & told them his player wants to go, or the club themselves leaking the details of the meeting, so as to force the issue. Either way, it hasn't made it into print as merely a figment of McNulty's imagination ffs.

The information that the agent has told the club that he wants away has either come from the players side or the clubs, it's that simple. But of course it's easier for you to convince yourself that McNulty just fabricated the entire story & then published it on the largest UK new site for the craic
This is my point though, you are taking it as fact that his agent has told the club this - when there is no quote of anything at all that was discussed and the headline of the article barely has any relevance to the body of it!!! These articles mean nothing but a few headlines people read as fact, as you have done and proved.
