You can look to force the issue via his agent though, as that's how it works. The nearer the close of the window comes the weaker your position gets, given that you'd be likely left with a player who's patently wanting to move on.
With Suarez, you get the impression that even though he is a nuisance, he will always give 100% on the pitch (similar to Tevez). And I don't think he would want to anger his employers given that it's WC year as well.

I don't see how he could play for you again given what he's said combined with his particular history. I also think the WC year is irrelevant, as he's their superstar & would be picked anyway. He's also on £6m p.a. so you can't have him sat on his arse on the bench at that. He's going, so you'd be prudent to get it done & move on imho.
IMO Baines will only go if he hands in a transfer request & United stump up £18m+ & I'm not sure either will happen. Fellaini will go however, not sure where, but someone will match his release clause & he'll be off.
But what has he actually said? He said he would find it difficult to turn down a club like Real Madrid? Who wouldn't?? He wants to play Champions League football? Who wouldn't? He also said he loves LFC and has a contract here as well but not many outlets reported that. Of course, it would have been wiser for him to have kept quiet but what he has said is understandable for any player with ambition.

We can afford to turn it down this summer, there's no pressure to sell. If United are to land him, they're going to have to pay top dollar for him & I'm not sure they will. If they do, then every player has their price, but I'd be gutted to lose Baines as the lad is class & he'd leave a gaping hole in our side.
Good point, he's also bringing a bad name to footballers making them look like money grubbing losers who don't really care about the sport (I know this isn't the case for all). He's making me feel an intense dislike for football/footballers with the manipulative statements and gamesmanship (this after all controversy he's put us through already). In the end he just comes across as desperate and pathetic, after all he's aware that he's damaged goods and clubs will always have that in mind. In a week where Andy Murray has reached the pinnacle of tennis through a love of and commitment to playing the game, and worked hard to improve and eradicate his weaknesses until he can compete at the highest level with and beat the best of the best, the contrast with a classless guy such as Suarez couldn't be sharper. If I was a vindictive person I'd hope that we sell him to RM, that the move completely fails and he spends the season struggling for form or on the bench, then has to move to Anzhi M (no disrespect) or somewhere else far away from the game's epicentre and we all forget he exists, but I'm not, so I won't.

I agree he's class hence why I'm sure Moyes will want him and why he'll pay for him. He'll already know what Bill values him at so the fact is if he's already started the negotiations he must be pretty confident of getting him. As for Suarez we are in a decent position (relatively speaking). He has plenty of contract left and he's had a good season football wise so we can stick to our guns in terms of price (as you can with Baines). What I'd like us to do as Jimmy said is to give him a date and a valuation that we aren't open to negotiation on. Hand in a transfer request by x date and if any club matches our valuation by that date but if not you stay until Jan. Even if he did leave late in the window we wouldn't have him for the first six games anyway so slightly reduces the early impact and actually may give Rodgers a bit more leeway in terms of pressure to get results...fans blaming Suarez etc. Hardly ideal of course but "if" we handle it properly then it's possible the impact won't be season destroying.

Ive been fairly quiet on this whole Suarez transfer saga. But Ive had it now. he clearly cant wait to get away from Liverpool for Champions league, even if it means going to a British club where the fans gave him constant **** last year. Of course it could all be the media twisting words and such, but I doubt it.. The guy is a coward and a turd. Just want rid of him now to someone overseas so we never have to see him in our colours again. Like rescuing a baby from a burning building and then the baby grows up to be a sex offender who brutalizes your sister...(Maybe not that bad, but feel cheated all the same.)
