Log In or register free to remove adverts! This Suarez situation is very similar to the RVP situation Arsenal suffered last year. Selling to United was not just criminal and hard to take, but it also sent out a statement that they were levels above us. Obviously we knew that. But no one wanted to admit it. "I understand Madrid.......But Arsenal? ARSENAL? What do they have over us?" Liverpool are as much rivals" to us as we've been rivaling Man U in recent years. It is that simple. And though nothing is concrete yet with this Suarez deal, I would've felt a little bit more sympathy for them if they weren't acting as such plebs. The whole club from the upper hierarchy, down to the manager, their media and the fans have been nothing but bitter and classless in this whole ordeal. I never had anything against Liverpool. If this deal goes through though, I will be rubbing it in some Scousers faces.. ----------------------------------------------------- like I say.............. some Arsenal fans really sticking their chest out over this, typical Londoners. They win **** all Reason I dont want him at Arsenal is because I dont want him at Utd/City in a couple of yrs
If you "like" Arsenal you guys have a funny way of showing it. Obviously it is completely understandable when you say we don't want to sell to another Premiership club. No qualms there. But the conversation becomes ludicrous when you claim Luis has more chance of winning silverware at Liverpool (even though all you've won in yoinks is a Carling Cup). Fact is, no matter how far back Arsenal have slipped, they are and have been levels above Liverpool for some time now. As for the bolded bit. Suarez is all those things and more. And I agree with you. It is hypocrisy. But let's be honest, which fans aren't hypocrites? They all are. Although, I myself haven't really cared too much about his antics, but rather found them funny, albeit childish.
Ben Smith has yet another article on Suarez, pretty much retreading the same crap we've heard all week and again without a single quote from Luis People actually read and lap up this ****? Other than Arsenal fans...
Who's claimed that? Be honest though, you and countless other Arsenal fans would be bouncing off the walls with a Carling cup - anything - to put in the trophy room!
I was going to make some sarcastic comments but I doubt that you have the capacity to appreciate them. You came to the Liverpool board and made a smart-alec comment. Now the term soft lad in Scouse parliance is very very mild. If you do not understand that then that is your fault. Just don't come on the bounce claiming to have been insulted. However, you are humorous. When did Arsenal last win anything? When did you actually win a European Cup?, etc. etc. It's past your bedtime soft lad!
You serious? You haven't seen your fellow Scousers saying that? You haven't seen them bang on about trophies like they've been swiping them up left right and centre? Not really. There's more to football than just trophies. And obviously it would be nice to win em. But we'd be bouncing off the walls if we won a Carling Cup? Another nothing comment which is completely baseless.
You were bouncing off walls after winning the beat spuds to 4th on the last day cup so i imagine if your lot won an actual trophy you might pop a vein or two.
Another bull statement. The team was. But the fans were more embarrassed than anything. But hey. Isn't 4th were you guys would love to finish? Face it. You lose Suarez, and you'll be on par with the likes of Swansea and Norwich (some would already say you are). Future looks very dreary for Liverpool.
No I haven't "There's more to football than just trophies." You would say that "Another nothing comment which is completely baseless" Well if you dont like it do one
Maybe because we've won more in the last eight years than Arsenal provides a good platform for that argument. Previous suggests we perform better in cup competitions and, since the CL and league are far beyond you, perhaps that's the foundation for their claim. I, personally, think we're both equally screwed from trophies atm. Difference is I'm ****ing made up if we win a cup, regardless of the competition whilst you, apparently, seem to think you'd shrug off the Carling cup...righto. Really trying to claim you're happy winning nothing yet again?
More to football? So now you're going down the "sporting route" or maybe it's the loyalty one, or the fair play or ......the taking part perhaps? Yeah Good luck with that approach if you get Suarez, except you won't. Your the fat girl he took to the prom to show the stunner he's a nice guy.
so bull that it made you comment on it On a par with Swans and Norwich even if we win nothing for the next 4 years and you win every trophy going in those 4 years you will still not be on par with Liverpool. Now toddle off to bed in your arsenal onesie with the padded feet All the talk of Suarez, why try sign him, just like any other player of true quality he will just leave arsenal after getting sick of carrying the rest of the motley crew
Speaking of baseless... We won a higher % games without Suarez. We scored more goals on average without Suarez. We actually played more as a team without Suarez. Top player, yes. Like to keep him, yes. But he's not as huge a difference to our team as the media have you believe. Yes, incidentally, I'd love to finish fourth. But after several consecutive years in it, I'd eventually like to push on and try to win it - not just continually be happy to be there
Lets think about this logically, why would Suarez go to you: 1) you barely make the CL spot & Spurs are more likely this year. Risk going to you and ending up in same boat but on a longer contract than he's on now? Lol 2) even if you scrape through to qualifying again, so what, out in group stages, maybe a round more. Don't think that's what he has in mind when he says "CL team" he means actually competing! 3) money? You have a similar pay structure to ours so we'd match anything you offer. 4) no chance of PL titles 5) so that leaves the two domestic cups, both of which we've come closer to (final and winners)while he has been in England. 6) London is still England so that's all his excuses covered. I mean its POSSIBLE he's that thick to go to you anyway but he'll surely fail the medical as he must be officially brain dead. And 50 million for a corpse isn't bad business in my mind.
If we got £50m for Suarez then I'd be happy to see the back of him. I would be surprised if he went to Arsenal as they would have to offer him 150k plus a week which would result in the rest of their squad wanting to renegotiate their deals asap. I think if he leaves it will be to Real Madrid and we are just planting the idea that we will let him go for 50m+ so Real know what level to start the bidding. His reputation may go against him am RM may not want the hassle.
To Arsenal though, what a waste Funnier still if they got their wish and failed to qualify for the CL proper Oh to be an arsenal share holder, high times indeed
