I really like this manager.

Not impressed with this narrative being spun around Romero. He's gone to complete his rehab in Argentina. Maybe he'll get himself in World Cup contention.

The manager is fine with it, the medical staff have ok'd it.

Given the record of the Tottenham medical team, I don't blame him at all for going where he feels he has the best chance of getting fit again swiftly.

Why does this narrative have to be spun as if he is abandoning the team?

De Zerbi is right to focus on the players that he actually has available.

Until an alternative version of events is made public it's impossible to disagree with either.

The other side of the coin is that Ben Davies asked RDZ to be part of the squad, to stay with them in the hotel and provide support.

That's what committed professionals do.

And I suspect nobody would be surprised about how Ben conducts himself.

Hoddle doesn't get tact. De Zerbi was brilliant at it. You need tact to be a good manager. One of the major reasons Hoddles managerial career was cut short, not his tactics his tact or lack of it.

De Zerbi is the current manager, obviously he can’t throw the player under the bus by saying it’s the wrong call but to see Hoddle and Sheringham both say what a lot of fans are saying is enough for me.

It’s another distraction the club didn’t need this week. The focus should be completely on the Everton game.

Which is why they should have shut up.

Exactly! It's not just his absence, which frankly, although disgusting for a club captain, will make little difference with him off the pitch as on the pitch, it's the fact that it will generate so much news time and create yet another internal issue for the staff and players to deal with.

On the subjects of distractions we don't need, Change for Tottenham have announced they're going to be a bunch of annoying ****wits on Sunday

Oh, and the "OMG, Kolo Muani liked an Instagram post!!!" hysteria that did the rounds yesterday

This is a Sport

He is THE club captain

What is his role?

I don't really care what the reason is, unless it's a family issue. He should want to be here to provide his support, his words, his presence.

Romero encapsulates everything wrong with this club and I'm not surprised we are in the state we are considering our Captains mindset for starters.

Need to get rid of these types regardless of what league we are in.

He's no leader I would want to run through brick walls for.
