Is this true that Romero is pissing off to Argentina to watch a cup final ? If so he should be immediately stripped of the club captaincy, clear his locker and leave it in a plastic bag outside the training ground and if he comes back he should be met with a sock full of **** round the back of his head
Confirmed it looks like...

If this is true he shouldn't be allowed back in the club at all. He's undoubtedly a talented footballer, but he's been a liability in many ways for us. Appointing him captain was always a bizarre decision, but this is beyond the pale. The man is a complete ****!

Could he not meet with them after Spurs game.

Spurs biggest game for a long time and the captain is on the other side of the world isn’t a good look.
No, he couldn't

Argentina have announced their 55 man longlist for their WC squad in the past week, but the preliminary 35 man squad list is expected to be announced either today or tomorrow

At this point the question nobody is asking is whether Lionel Scaloni requested Romero attend to get a once-over from their medical team given he's vice-captain of the Argentine NT, or whether Romero made the decision off his own back

Regardless he could have waited until the Prem season was over before flying to the other side of the world. As the captain he could/should be there for a game that could define the future of the club that pays his wages.

If he was told to get the once-over from the Argentine NT medical team or he wouldn't go to the World Cup, no he couldn't wait

And that's the other thing that those giving talkBALLS the content which they need: do people believe the club didn't give the okay for him flying out there? I have to ask, as there seems to be a few people who do

Couldn’t they have come to London and given the once over?

Or if the squad is announced tomorrow and they’ve seen him then he could fly back in time for the game to support his teammates in a critical game?

It doesn't really make sense to send out the entire medical team for one player, especially considering the preliminary squad has a few players to suffer recent injuries like Lautaro Martinez (and also Gio Lo Celso and Nicolas Otamendi, who it's safest to presume have probably been injured in the past 6-12 weeks)

Of course, the question why preliminary squads "have" to be announced this week is also there, considering the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A seasons don't finish until the weekend, while the Eredivisie finished today. Surely it makes sense to hold off on the announcements until after the CL final is done?

Then again, the phrase "Surely it makes sense" doesn't really apply to this WC...

Members/ ST holders, have any of you had an email yet asking for your POTY vote?

I swear it’s usually around 3-4 days before the final home game(?) and I’ve not had it yet.

Desperate to vote Kulusevski.

If they did then frankly both Romero and the club can get in the bin.
The story earlier this week was that he was meant to be staying around rather than seek assessment and treatment in Argentina.
Which are we now to believe?
Simple: the AFA initially said he should meet the NT physio after Brobbey shoved him into Kinsky, but Romero refused saying he wanted to support his squadmates

The sudden 180 points to the AFA making it clear that they did not make a request

The only issue with this story is the optics, but of course talkBALLS wants to make it more than that knowing the section of our fanbase that makes it hard to laugh at AFTV anymore will generate plenty of content
He could demand that he stays to watch his team fight for survival

would travel to the other side of the world to kiss Messi's ring piece

I think he's an absolute ****er and can't wait to get rid
He initially did, that's the part which is being omitted from the story

I'm going to Inverness with Mrs RCL on Sunday...got more chance of seeing the lochness monster than spurs not losing on Sunday....

cmon you crazy Yorkshire bastards .. do it for Archie!
Completely off topic, but not too far from Inverness (on the scale of Scotland anyway, a bit over 80 miles) is the village of Pennan. Have you ever been there? It's an amazing place, and for me the star of the 1983 film "Local Hero".
