No it isn't - most the Celtic squad came from the Championship. We were beaten by Hearts in a non competitive friendly, you can hardly call that 'ripping us a new one'.

Agreed it was a friendly, but didn't Dundee Utd come to the KC and beat us convincingly too? You can say they're meaningless games that you can't read anything into but in the absence of any counter evidence from the yah-boo-sucks brigade I'd say it gives a decent impression of the relative standards. Celtic also have an excellent record of beating top English teams in European competition too. In fact, I don't think Leeds, Liverpool or Man U have got the better of them.

I was at the Hearts game, it was the usual pre-season stroll, it bore absolutely no resemblance to a league performance. You might as well say that the Northern Counties East League is on a par with the Championship, because Winterton Rangers once beat us in a pre-season.

Anthony Stokes came from Hibs. I don't believe they are a Championship side.

So you were able to name 6 players who came from the Championship and were wrong about one of those... That must mean you think "most" of the Celtic squad constitutes 11 players.

Is that correct?

and we beat liverpool 3-0 in a friendly.. and have lost to north ferriby <ok>

hibs is even worse than a championship squad <laugh> but he played there not long before joining celtic

and no but those players get a lot of game time <ok>

That's a fair point, Anthony Stokes couldn't cut it in the Championship, that's why he went to the SPL.

See if you can find someone intelligent that lives nearby to read you the response I gave, and maybe they'll explain how that is an answer, just not the one you want to hear. and arsenal beat celtic 5-1 on agg in the champs league a few years ago <ok>

They do get a lot of game time. But the assertion was that most of the Celtic squad came from the championship.
