Williams is a wily old sod isnt he? Reminds me of Cliff Thorburn, speeding of course. If he can slow the lad down and make it a tactical battle I think he wins. If Zhao pots them off the lampshades then he wins. All on Williams to set the tone really.

Not really into snooker but I've just flicked it on.

Just for context could someone explain, for example, what price these 2 were pre tournament? Just want to know if these were expected to be in the final. I know Williams is a multiple champion, but I've never heard of the other kid.

TIA

Don't think the Chinese lad would have been fancied, he's just come back from a years ban and was little more than a prospect before that. Williams I don't think you'd necessarily expect to be in the final at his age but you can never rule him out.

Oldest player to reach this final, bad eyesight and still got a great chance of winning. Fair play.

Cheers mate. I seen at the start of the tournament Williams wasn't sure whether to play in glasses or not. Like I said I'd never heard of the other kid. What do you get banned for in snooker?? Match fixing? Doubt there's many PED's in snooker <laugh>

Yeah match fixing mate, I think there were a few Chinese players guilty of it around that time. He wasn't banned for long (relatively) so presumably not that bad.

I'd be surprised if there's ever been a snooker player who's lifted a dumbbell, they all look like they live in the cupboard under the stairs.

Zhao could wrap this up this session.
Wouldn't put it past him tbh.

Amateur my arse
He’s is and always has been top class
No 7 I believe before his ban and looks very much like the new world champion
However he should like the rest of the Cheaters given no chance and banned for life
These cheaters know the consistencies

Been too good really. Fair play. Dont like the backstory but Hendry said he would be the first Chinese player to win the worlds.

Think MWs downfall has been coming into the final straight off the back of the incredibe semi with Judd and not having any real time to settle himself down.
Sadly that first session has cost him.
