Predictions for the semis, then?

O’Sullivan 17-12 Zhao
Trump 17-13 Williams

O'Sullivan being taken to the cleaners here, superb stuff from Xintong.

Didn't see the ending but it sounds like Ronnie took the beating with a lot of class and didn't make excuses. Don't think he was in the right frame of mind from the start of the tournament.

I would like to see him bow out as someone still to be feared.

Yes I agree, it's always sad when great sportspeople reach the end of the road and it's worse when they don't know when to stop. I wouldn't be surprised if he had another big win or two in the tank but he needs his head in the right place and a cue he trusts or don't even bother trying.

Might be the beginning of the end for him. I am not sure he has the game for a long event like this anymore. And I am not sure he can motivate himself enough for the lesser events.

Whether it be Trump or Williams in the final they will give the chineses lad a world of headaches with safety play.
Will be good to watch.

I think it's possible if he's in a good place mentally and is bang up for it but whether that happens is another matter. Probably part of the reason he's unhappy is because he's getting older and losing his touch and is struggling to come to terms with it.
