Interesting to read some of the Everton blogs. Most of the posters don't want him; he's not from a big enough club, had no success, etc, and apparently those who do see Marco Silva as an option have the opinion that Watford have no say in the matter; if Everton want, they get - for some it seems even Marco Silva doesn't have a say - or if Silva does actually wish to talk Everton will pay any price.

They appear more deluded than the Leeds fans.

Well they're wrong - he has had Success. Wasn't impressed by him, so dropped him... <whistle>

The question of whether Usmanov has a stake in Everton as well as Arsenal hasn't been fully answered. If it is proved that he does, I would imagine that it could all sorts of issues. Does he really want to go there until that situation is resolved?

Just read that Everton are willing to double his wages. I really hope the Pozzos dig their heels in, but if he wants to go, he will go..and if he goes, he's no better than Judas...Mr Integrity mark II.

The worst of all this is what the reaction will be on Sunday. We really don't want another loss on our hands.

Sums up modern football when they are offering 8-10 million for a manager!

And one who as they point out hasn't had great success yet - only just getting started on the managerial road.

I remember they really waned Koeman and Martinez but that soon turned sour.

This suggests they have given up on Silva after the approach was rejected. Hopefully that will be the end of that and they haven't unsettled him too much! Also seen a report they've approached Wolves to speak to their manager, which was also rejected

All seems a bit of a mess now... no plan to hire Koeman's successor. Clubs will just keep rejecting approaches knowing they will go away once they do, so will just have to go for someone out of work. Either go back to Allardyce and offer a big incentive until the end of the season, or maybe someone like Tuchel... who may need time to get the team working how he wants

Thomas Tuchel is being talked about as the successor to Jupp Heynckes at Bayern at the end of this season.

I know he is highly rated and still pretty young but what happened at Dortmund?

That might have dented his reputation a bit...

Everton fans do need to realise despite being very rich and having been the best of the rest for the last couple of seasons they aren't quite the club they hope to be now.

Guess they expect a big name because Newcastle got one despite being all but relegated..

I know OFH was just quoting the article but what if Silva did go there and Everton only won 1 game out of 5/6 home games and lost a 2 goal lead to a side in the relegation zone.

Suspect the reaction would not be too great!

Hence my comment earlier than Silva would be under much more pressure to achieve instant results not matter what the situation or squad is.

Not sure about how rich Everton are as a club Mark. In terms of revenue they are listed below both Newcastle and West Ham. However, they are traditionally a very big club and would not want to be seen as lagging so far behind Liverpool and the Mancs in the prestige stakes, and so they would be looking for a big name manager (even though Dyche might actually be their best choice). On paper Ronald Koemann appeared to be the perfect choice - so you never can tell with these things, either it fits or it doesn't. Maybe Wayne Rooney should take his coaching certificates <laugh> As for Bayern and Tuchel - anyone taking over from Jupp Heynckes, and working alongside Uli Hoeness with Beckenbauer adding comments here and there is going to have a hard time - and Heynckes cannot be expected to work beyond 73. But Bayern have had their fill of foreign managers and are now looking for a German one (actually they want Jupp Heynckes to work until he's 90 !).

Despite his record he is not really that good, so we are stuck with him.

I suppose I should be pleased with this comprehensive trashing of MS. However, I am actually furious with the selective reasoning used, and actually laughed when it said that Everton have a much better squad than WFC. I hope the Everton board see reason and reject any further approach to our awful useless incompetent head coach !

Everton over payed for most of there squad so they must think they only need a new manager to turn them into a top 6 team .The talk is they want to up there bid to 15M IF they do should we report them to the EPL

The sad truth is money talks and they can double his wages on a 3 or 4 year term plus back him to bring in the players he wants in Jan . If he feels he can keep them up and get them into Europe next year .Then maybe utd or city will come calling
The alternative is he can stay with us, build up his management credentials first, and then maybe United, City or someone bigger will come calling. Whereas he could go to Everton, lose 4 in a row and go the same way as his predecessors - in which case United or City will not come calling.

And those players he wants might - just might - include the likes of Richarlison, Doucoure, Femenia....

He said before the Everton game he wasn't interested and doesn't need to say anymore whilst he concentrates on preperation for Sunday.

I'm sure he will be asked at Friday's press conference.
