My current stance in full, as explained by other forum users:

My loyalty is to Liverpool rather than specifically Suarez. If they believe Suarez is innocent then I will follow that.

From what I've read so far he has been found guilty on what Evra has said and that alone. I don't beleive that anyone should be branded a racist on such little evidence.

Suarez grandfather and other members of his direct family are mixed race.

Oi I don't presume he's innocent because Kenny says so anymore than you presume he's guilty just because Evra says so. The point here is that most of us would like to know exactly what the FA have based their judgement on and IF as Liverpools statement implies it was simply one mans word against the other do you think that should be enough to convict a man and ruin his reputation?

In fairness to the majority of Liverpool fans, plenty on here have said that if the evidence against Suarez is 100% clear cut then he can go **** himself (and trust me he deserves 8 games and to get ****ed off if he was truly being racist) but at the moment all we have to go on is the length of ban and Liverpools (very very strongly worded) statement about it. Do you really expect us to sit back and say "well the FA never ****s things up do they, so it must be true"? <laugh>

The people criticising/attacking Suarez so freely based on the severity of his ban which therefore must have been based on solid evidence seem to be overlooking the fact that NO football club in the UK would even consider making the statement Liverpool made without having their own solid belief that the incorrect ruling was made. Liverpool would never make such a bold statement if they weren't confident in their position because of the massive fallout it would have. Of that, i'm certain. Therefore, if Liverpool are confident in their stance, I'm confident in them and thus, confident in Suarez.

I'm not going to give my personal opinion of Suarez, however I really can't see Liverpool responding the way they are without some SERIOUS belief that they are in the right.

Consider also that the FA are shown to have zero credibility with the Rooney-ban fiasco whereby they are effectively saying that violent conduct is acceptable and will be appealed if it suits them. They need to save face and Suarez's incident comes along at a perfect time to shoulder that topic away...

I think they're making a scapegoat out of Suarez on very limited and dubious evidence (one mans word against another would never be considered evidence, especially from such an uncredible source as Evra due to past accusations and his comments to the referee).

If there is solid proof that shows he's a racist, I would gladly kick him out the club and not give him a second thought. But Liverpool's reaction convinces me that he and the club are in the right.

<ok>

I find it funny Jatt that you are saying support Suarez despite the guilty verdict ( which must be based on evidence ) whilst saying that Evra should be ashamed of himself.

Wow.

You assume it is based on evidence, I do not.

Suarez gave them all the evidence they need by admitting calling him negrito.

And don't give me it acceptable in his home country. Where he played before it was also acceptable to smoke weed in pubs - should he get away with that in England aswell.

I don't think he intented to be racist but you can't excuse ignorance.

Innocent until proven guilty - well he's been found GUIILTY!

I will not support this racist person (I can say that as the guilty verdict says that) - Kenny Dalglish should be ashamed of himself for supporting a player who has racially abused another player - he should be sacked as I would be - he will be paid whilst he's banned but if it was me I would certainly no longer be in a job and I would certainly find it difficult to find another job.

His been found guilty, not proven (as of yet)

Tell 250 million Americans that - why do you think they are referred to as African American or Afro Caribbean.

I guess you don't ever bother to confirm your facts before posting - then again that should be evident from your original article.

Being referred to as "South American" is about as insulting as a Frenchman being called "European". You really aren't that bright are you <doh>

You mean politically correct

You asked for other club's supporters opinions. Well i'm a Watford supporter, have absolutely no bias and i don't see anything wrong with the ban and support it fully. If these three independent people whom both clubs were happy with to ajudicate (any of the panel could have been replaced at the request of either club if fear of bias) have decided he is guilty of racism then there is no defending it. I understand people have allegencies to Liverpool and want their best players available but me being just a general fan when it comes to the premier league, i feel he is getting off lightly with 8 games for being found guilty of racism, when you consider the lengthlier bans others have got for physical abuse like Di Canio, Cantona etc

People seem to be making judgments on whether he sould have been found guilty including the official Liverpool statement without the facts about the case actually being publicsed. Maybe once the decision is explained the people already nailing their colours to the mast with no information will actually be able to make and informed decision about whether to support Suarez or not.

The United States Census Bureau announced that "Negro" would be included on the 2010 United States Census, alongside "Black" and "African-American" because some older Black Americans nevertheless self-identify with the term

Found guilty = proven guilty.

Jeez you really are stupid.

Here's an example of the above: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2011/dec/19/man-guilty-burying-partner-alive

The Birmingham Six were six men—Hugh Callaghan, Patrick Joseph Hill, Gerard Hunter, Richard McIlkenny, William Power and John Walker—sentenced to life imprisonment in 1975 in the United Kingdom for the Birmingham pub bombings. The jury found the six men guilty of murder.Their convictions were declared unsafe and quashed by the Court of Appeal on 14 March 1991. The six men were later awarded compensation ranging from £840,000 to £1.2
million.
