That's ridiculous, how can you possibly contradict what someone else feels for them. @Bucky1989 is saying how it feels to them and it's clearly just a fun post ... ... they're not making a definite prediction based on statistics, current form or possible line ups, in fact they're saying anything can happen. It's just a bit of harmless fun ffs, seriously, give it a rest.
With Sheff Utd’s miserable record at Wembley and our recent good form there, as well as being the better team in our two games against them, I’m very confident we win this game. They wouldn’t have finished anywhere near the points total ahead of us, had we not downed (competitive) tools about 6 weeks ago.
Problem is certain posters are just negative and cherry pick the facts for their personal agenda. Apparently Sheff Utd are a better team than us because of their points total, yet the same poster claimed Coventry were better than us because of the form we were in. Same posters were relentless in their criticism of RLB over the last 6 games for his approach. Yet only one team had the energy in extra time to really have a go and in the end won the tie. The same posters criticised our second half of the season, but can't see that was also down to the fact we lost our LWs. To play the attacking high press we played early in the season you have to have fast , extremely fit wingers. RLB had to change his style completely. He made us hard to beat, however not as entertaining to watch. He managed to have us comfortable in 4th place and used the spare games to benefit us. I've heard posters claim he needs to use his subs more, especially Aleksic, I think our last 6 games shows why he hasn't been using them more. When Mundle came on and we switched to our 433 we were a different animal and the one I think he will start with at Wembley. The difference is now we have a team that can attack with the high press, then sit in when we need to. We played them twice this season and showed we can match them. Had we had Mundle alll season I think we would have been a lot closer to the top 2. Yet some will have written our chances off already.
You’ve already posted, a dozen times on various threads, how Sheff Utd are better than us, favourites to win, better players and how many goals/wins/etc they have. How many more times will you just have to say it … … it’s not like you're announcing breaking news, everyone knows they're slight favourites.
I hadn't really seen much of this overconfidence until the last 24hrs or so. Well and truly the underdogs to those on the outside looking in as well. Wouldn't have it any other way!
Decent posters keep coming on and saying they rarely post because of the doom sayers ... ... makes no difference, they just keep bashing away at the club for very little reason. If they ever posted anything informative, interesting, helpful or witty it would help.
I can only speak for myself but I got annoyed with the petty arguments about people being too negative or people being too positive Folk can post what they want, folk shouldn't get told to be positive all the time or vice versa Nothing wrong with saying Sheff Utd are the favourites, that's a fact. They are the bookies faves and they finished above us in the league. Now that means FA it's all about what happens on the day This week will be an exciting and nerve racking week, no point us spending time moaning about what people post surely
The Sheff Utd fans I work with arent overly confident at all. Probably just the extreme social media bunch tbh. Chatting it through with them last week they all think it is two well matched teams and it will be about performance on the day. Personally I think we need Ballard to match up to Moore as at some point in the game they will choose to go long. Every mainstream media team sees Sheffield as favs. Can understand that. They only have a superficial view. We look at our players and see not just what they do but the potential they have to do something special. 50/50 game for me, just hope VAR doesnt have a say personally. Hate it.
^ bang on, agree with every word Saturday will be tough but of course we’ve got a decent chance of winning, nobody has denied that
Personally, I’m trying to ignore all the chat about Sheffield. We’ve got a fantastic weekend coming up and I intend to thoroughly enjoy it. We’ve shown we’re good enough to beat them so that’s good enough for me. I just hope our team go out there and play to their full potential. All the pressure is on them because they’re “expected” to win but that doesn’t always ring true as we saw yesterday. Friday can’t come quick enough for me - it’s going to be a long 4 days at work!!!!
Same for me, thankfully I'm away with work till Thursday, so hopefully busy and the week goes quickly. We are a very good team, can play multiple ways and have a calm, calculating head coach. This could well be a game of tiny margins and who handles the pressure better.
Agree with this. We are capable of beating anyone in this league if we play as well as we can....we've already seen that. No need for fear.
Just packing suitcases ready for tomorrow's long drive up to Fort William in the highlands for an overnighter then onwards to Gairloch eventually, with a stop inbetween so a busy week and a good distraction. Day of the final got a five hour drive down to Pitlochry for 3 nights hoping I can time it before KO. Bad timing booking this but we were top of the league then and didn't expect playoffs but it is what it is. Just hope the lads turn up on the day and get the job done....I've every confidence. Safe travels for all those lucky enough to be going, enjoy and come home happy HTL.
I am driving to Plymouth on Thursday for an extended weekend, anyone know any decent pubs to watch in the city centre down there?
