I’m reading Souness’s book. Knighton was close to pulling that off believe it or not. He was banking on a £10 million input from the owner of Glasgow Rangers. The Rangers fella I can’t remember his name( might have been Murray) agreed to do it then changed his mind as he didn’t want involvement with two clubs.
If he hadn’t changed his mind Knighton would have bought Man United and Souness had agreed to be their manager.

Instead he got Carlisle.
Campbell got Falkirk and not safc.
Dodged a bulletc there.

If this is the level, I would agree.

Definitely want to see a bit more detail though. The best long term outcome is a new ownership group. If there's not a pathway to that, it'll be a disappointment. If there is, it would mitigate some of the underwhelming headline figures mooted so far.

It's a weird proposition, and Nixon has obviously known things were happening but he's not been great on getting the details right.

So who knows?
Certainly Nixon doesn't
All you need to know about Nixon is that he works for the Sun
They'll make up anything for a story and don't care who they **** on
They rely on people's agreeing with a particular agenda and saying "there's no smoke without fire"
Last I heard he was claiming it was off the Americans had walked away and SD was desperately looking for other investment
Now he claims these same Americans are investing but only £4m
You might as well rely on the rumours on RTG as listen to this bloke

No one at the club will be telling Nixon anything before respected journalists or the supporters directly.

Funnily enough I just received a WhatsApp as I read your post ...

.... "Investment announcement tomorrow hopefully" <laugh>
I'll have a guess at you being told it is £5m though :emoticon-0105-wink: I've just said this across the waters <laugh>

"they could have told various people it was £3m, £4m, £5m, £6m just to see what is leaked.

Tomorrow's news are the 4 January targets that will be bought no matter what to find a few more leaks"

Fingers crossed summit is said tomorra but if not at least their money is gaining interest daily :emoticon-0103-cool:

Certainly he has it sounding a lot less positive than your sources have made it sound. I wouldn't say he's any more reliable! £4m just as a loan is a bit **** if it doesn't necessarily lead to them owning any part of the club, I'd also have to agree with @Kittenmittons that if that's what it is it isn't really worth doing. If we need £4m Donald should put some of the £20m in interest free rather than using them as an interest charging bank.

I can't see the above being the case though, it doesn't really benefit anyone. If it's a deal where we get investment and Donald pays it back in shares that's better, but again I don't really see why Donald goes for it other than to get them to the table. I still think them just taking Sartoris shares makes a lot more sense, and roughly ties in with the £4m quoted

I wasnt given a figure mate, that was the entire message but it's from someone who's close to the heart of the club.

Interesting theory though, regarding leaks.

The problem is that leaks have obviously come from the club directly to RR, ALS, BBC, etc.

Someone's playing games but they're just not funny.

Agree with all of that and the Sartori shout makes a lot of sense. If that's the case then the would be owners of 20% of the club, rather than "investing £4m" as Nixon suggests which is a much more positive story (though still not quite the result we were hoping for).

Interested in this obviously, what's he said?
Someone posted "Do we know if Charlie & Stewart have put the 15 million back into the club yet? We could do with that first rather than getting others to put 4 million in"

And Bob replied "yes and it was a lot less than that but yes"
