Hopefully it doesn't get to that, but if someone is going to be barred from this thread, will an announcement be made? and does anyone have any inside information regarding the workings of it?

It's not a takeover or the secret service, you know, :emoticon-0136-giggl

It won't come to that (hopefully) but you'll know if it does :emoticon-0105-wink:

Agreed, kittens maybe right but does bang on about it Ad infinitum.

This maybe construed as mag wum behaviour by some RTG posters since over there is full of them, (rather than a supporter concerned for the club), but if proved correct quite rightly voicing concerns.

The problem is this talk is merely conjecture with no real proof. Which could possibly lead to libelous accusations which im sure the mods are monitoring.

Remember frank knight ? and the oystens ?
Hopefully this isn't the case and the right things are done for the club.

SD put money into Eastleigh iirc and can't blame him for taking the opportunity to take on a big club albeit under funded, but i can see some peoples misgivings because of this.

As I have said before there does appear to be a ground swell of anti Donald posts on both boards.

I don't recall short getting so many posts in such a short time.

I also worry that unless the announcement explains every element of the investment / takeover it will be pulled apart rather than enjoying the news

The groundswell lessened after Tranmere and would've quieted further if we'd won yesterday.

A win at Oxford, and an encouraging takeover announcement, would help ...

.... people are just frustrated, me included.

I was told it would be last week and now I've had the same lad telling me tomorrow ffs!

I get everyone is frustrated at losing but an announcement this week won't magically make the team better.

It's been badly handled from the start, but as I have said before it's become an excuse to moan at the owners

Pretty much this. Jesus, the previous takeover is still getting it's carcass picked at, never mind what's happening now

  13. We’re all frustrated mate. As long as the lad is saying an announcement is still going to happen, that’s good news!

You're right, it won't make the team better, but it will give people hope that our overall situation can be improved. Many are not of that opinion under our present ownership, whether it be for financial or other reasons.

What the many need to think is that next year is even worse financially. I'm sure the owners are very very aware of it

This for me. If you have a puncture on your car, and you can't afford a new tyre for a while, you panic. If you have the same, but you now you are getting a new car soon enough, it eases your mind

Then we agree then. The owners are aware of their limited financial position, and recognise that without further investment, next year doesn't bear thinking about. That is why fans are desperate for some form of a deal to be struck.

I think we all agree, and we are all desperate for goods news.

However the anti owner agenda I have read during this time has been at times shocking

Agreed. And I'd add that we had the rumoured Mark Campbell interest recently. That scared me a bit, I was worried that the owners would be so desperate for someone to share the financial burden (as they can't really afford us next year) they'd end up letting almost anyone in, that bloke sounded like, in football terms, he didn't have a pot to piss in.

That's where my worry comes in. This isn't just any investment, this is investment that would give hope. In theory, if they eventually went all in, we'd never need another investor, these could take us as far as anyone. I'm desperate to have that security for the club, and that hope. When you've got kids especially you start to really hope they stick with the club and you want to think they might see us decent eventually. If this breaks down we'd look ****ed for the foreseeable future in terms of getting established even back in the championship (even getting up might be a struggle) and we might end up with another Campbell type getting on board. Absolutely desperate for this to go through and for us to get these people to the table in some capacity or other
