To be fair when des starts his "your sort" posts he deserves to be called out on it. For some reason, with absolutely nothing to suggest or support it, he'd suddenly start accusing posters of being inherently racist or sexist. He's been doing it for years. Not sure if it's so that he can try and feel superior, or whether he genuinely believes that every poster except him has some dark ulterior motive to every post, but it's out of order. Of course some take great offence at having baseless accusations thrown at them, respond a bit aggressively and get banned. Fair enough if you've seen a poster regularly displaying sexist or racist views, but he does it to perfectly decent posters. We are allowed to say that Byrne was under qualified and ****e without it being due to her sex in just the same way that we say it about De Fanti (although Des probably thinks that's us all being xenophobic). He's a grown bloke, it's ****ing pathetic.

Methven’s comments are the telling factor for me. As a PR man and with it being his contacts in the new regime he would have been very naive to give that statement if he wasn’t convinced it would get over the line and I’d have thought there would have been a dialogue with the new people ahead of the talk-in about what, if anything, should be said.
It does seem to have dragged on a while but as long as it gets done in the next couple of weeks, so be it. I dare say you and your missus will be particularly relieved.

When he was hired there was a groundswell of support for him. Short, in a show ( last gasp?) of support let him waste 34m in his disastrous season.That season was a big spend compared to many. Same applies to advocaat, o'neill, bruce, keane. Bruce at least balanced the books but he bought some 5hite.

As for byrne it was very clear during her tenure that her gender was like a target on her back. For the up and coming chauvinist a woman in a very senior role in a football club is kryptonite and so it proved. God only knows how much worse it could have been were she a person of colour as well.
Strange that even though so many on here disparaged her for her supposed lack of football understanding ( there's irony personified ) she has forged a very good reputation as a players agent since she left. People with real knowledge of the game (not social media misogynists) clearly respect and trust her

Byrne was going to the FA before the Sunderland job turned up and subsequently also after she left... You may know people who trust her but I have been told that she is not well liked in Ulster.

What you going on about like?

I've not seen one person say it's because it was she was a woman and are you implying that we are all racist?

Couldn't give two ****s if she/he was black/blue or from mars done a ****e job and rightly got peddled. If anything it seems that you may be the one who has racist and sexist views if you see it in that way.

I've not read this 'debate' as it seemed relentless and boring with no one prepared to listen.

However, I'd be very surprised if Rocky was acting up, he's definitely not in a clique.

It's a match day so I don't really want to get bogged down with this but I'll take a look tomorrow ....

... by the looks of things it'll still be going on ;)

I've not attempted to defend anyone and (from what I've read) you would have less difficulty connecting your head with your ar*e than most.

So, as I previously posted, bore off and take your RTG agenda elsewhere.
