This sort of thing always has me erring on the cautious side! Why would one of the richest groups want to buy SAFC? Not like we're a football powerhouse or even in the biggest league. Is it going to be a "let's make a quick buck" type of thing or is it going to be "I see a sleeping giant"?

Hopefully the latter but expecting nothing.

Last season we were in the top 10 for highest average gates in europe even though we're in League 1. We have a state of the art Stadium(paid for), top of the range training facilities, a thriving youth academy, why wouldnt one of the richest groups not want to buy us? Whod have thought 5 years ago Wolves would be as rich as they are now??
Our club is available at a snip of the price it could potentially be due to the league were in. Whoever buys us now and takes us bavk to where we should be could end up being quids in!

Sounds like Dell wouldn't be involved much, it's the other three blokes who are putting up the money. Think they're still very wealthy but not 20th richest person in the world wealthy.

No arguments but I'm thinking, from a football perspective, all we are is a third division team with a great stadium and a lot of fans. That's not a rich mans attraction. City were top league when the Sheik's bought them. Chelsea Abramovic the same - they are the 2 clubs I would say have a similar history to SAFC. City moreso than Chelsea - nothing big at the time but in the right league. Too many variables to know for certain either way - as I say - I am not holding my breath that this is a turning point as it could be far from it.

It's not like before, new buyers have to go through strict EFL assessments where their business plan is scrutised. They'll not be allowed to buy us if their plan isn't tight

Not to say they'll do a great job but the chances of another Short are greatly reduced

Im no buisness man, infact im shyte with money but to buy us for 40m, add all them points ive already listed above and it makes perfect buisness sense to me regardless of what league we are in at the moment. Its there to be seen what kind of club we should and could be. Its a no brainer for any wealthy buisness man really.

Agree with your sentiments, but IF Sunderland were in the premier league and wanted investors, with our stadium, facilities and fan base, they would be looking at a lot more than 40 million.
