OK may have to give you that SB or this could be a very olong thread. We should bump it at Easter and see how all your predictions have failed, I mean fared.

If you are trying to compare Pompey & Saints fans at present Possum I think we are the only ones laughing currently.

What you have to understand is we have had nothing to laugh about for a number of years. Zilch. Nada.

We may be in league 2, but my gosh are we having a good time at the moment. 7 out of 9 in the league, a squad with depth (have you still got a squad?.....see what I did there!) but maybe, just maybe, this year will see a new dawn of "the rivalry" and we can both get to the end of the season as two happy sets of fans....

I see your point. It's a bit like the old adage that, if you keep banging your head against a wall, it's nice when you stop! You may have plummeted financially and in terms of League status, but it can be a relief to reach rock bottom and start looking upward again.
When we were in Div 1, we had a great time expecting to win every week. However, we couldn't wait to get out of there!
 
Hey Skates, come back when you've won 21 home games in a row. For the illiterate among you, that's over a year in which you've won every single home game.
 
Out of the prem for 5 years after 27 on the trot hurt but runners up league 1, runners up Championship, 14th prem and 8th in prem is not a bad last 4 years. Most talked about and most watched by the England manager and most respected Prem team and youth set up was not bad. Big up set before this season started with movement of manager and some star players hurt but great new manager, 7 new very good players settling in and more to come will make us a better team and stronger squad in depth. So believe me I am laughing a lot louder than any Pompey fan and I don't mean that as a rival fan, I mean it totally as a football fan.

Unfortunately Possum, everything you have said above is pure speculation!

You have a new manager and 7 new players who have next to no Premier League experience - you do not know how any of them will fare after 1 competitive match.

You also do not know that more are coming in - you have £50m sat in the pot but we all know thats found its way into Liebarrs pocket!

I would say it more likely that you lose more players before any more arrive!

You have a rich owner, with a board who are not from a footballing background. The wheels will fall off your cart soon enough but I will not gloat and say I told you so.

I believe we have a lot more to laugh about at present. A new training ground and academy (paid for and being built right now). we have argubly the best squad in the division and the feel good factor is back at Fratton. We only have one way to look now and that is up - whereas where your next points are coming from could be tricky!

Oh don;t get me wrong, can't wait to get out of League 2 either - but when things are going well its nice to savour it - especially when we have had nothing to sing about for 5 years +!

MIke. Lets see where we are when the window has shut. I'm confident wer'll bring another couple in yet. If KL was looking to pocket the money she would'nt have allowed Ron to buy Long.

Well Mike , I, 4-1 value your learned and always eloquent opinions. <ok> Its a shame half of these Scummers visiting our Board, can barely utter a word of the Queen's English, I have heard that they are pretty au fait with Polish though!<whistle>
