well i was thinking if you took this site like politics and if every site was constiuacy and you elect a mod to do the best for you then the mods vote on importent things like this because that is the best way to guage the whole sites opinion just a sugggestion

Without wanting to sound or look naive here folks, what does + - Rep mean ?
Although I've been on here since the start, I have mainly been a passive user and rarely comment. Because of this I haven't bothered to try out the facilities, ie I would not know how to look for private messages (how do I check to see if any messsages have been left) Also, + - Rep ? is all Greek to me as well.
Can anyone help to navigate me through these facilities please ?

PMs are notification at the top right when you have a PM the number will show up next to the notifications text.
to see your rep, right next to the notifications, is profile, if you hover your mouse just to the right of profile/left of log out a hand should pop up, click then and it will take you to your rep.

I always leave 'BB' when i leave rep, yet is still get negative back, anonymous, saying 'have some neg rep back' when i haven't left any?
It's pointless IMO, someone makes 2 really good posts deserving of credit, you can't give them 2 lots? Fundamentally flawed.

I always sign Dorset on mine. I've got no issue about the points system, but what I do have real reservations about is the ability for the more sinister poster to post what he or she wants, safe in the knowledge that they can't be identified.
I think the most dangerous and open to abuse thing of all about reputation is that you really don't know who has left it. I always indicate when I give rep but there is nothing to back that up or prove that it actually came from me even if I do end it with DT or Donkey Toon.
There is nothing to stop someone from giving neg rep (with or without an offensive message) and signing it off as coming from somebody else, thereby stirring trouble between people. Surely that has to be a flawed and anti-social system?

Amend it for me, I get neg rep all the time with some ****ed up random comments from no one, also, there have been a few cases where people have left neg rep and signing as someone else (Probably what happened to BB)
If you dont like it, stop being a whiney bitch and just dont use it. Simple.
If you dont purposely check your rep score, then the entire system makes absolutely no difference to your forum experience. If you dont like it, just ignore it.

I've got no beef about the points award concept of the rep system. The 'comment' section is the issue here and you have to admit, it is being abused big time.
And the fact you can't give 2 helpings consecutively to someone worthy at your own wish, that is pathetic.
