I'm looking to guage opinion on whether we need to do away with Rep award points.

The negative rep that some users find amusing to use doesn't bother me at all, but what does bother me is the spinless bastards that leave anonymous obusive, obscene and vindictive comments in the rep facility instead of using a thread or the PM facility so that the recipient at least knows who is having a go at him or her.

IMO, the rep comment facility is a dangerous tool to leave in place when we have youngsters and women who use this website.
I believe that we either need to remove the comment part of rep award points system, or make it possible for the sender to be identified. If this can't be done, it needs to be scrapped all together.

What do you think? Vote now....
 
Get rid. I can't see what the point of it is anyway and as for some of the anonymous comments. Well need I say more............
 
If i got more positive rep i wouldnt mind lol (and i mean ppl say, love your banner, but i never get rep for it) but i do think it should not be anonymous, if you have something to say then have your monicker on it so we know who the hell you are, good or bad, if thats cant be done, then scrap it, as lets be honest its getting abused left right and center anyway.

some one says i just got neg repped in a thread for say 5 points, they get 50-100 points of pos rep in return from their fans (or even rivals if they deserved it), so it doesnt really mean anything at all tbh.
 
It is a totally pointless tool, which is also an apt discription of the arseholes who leave some of the 'not very pleasant' comments I have received. I think my rep stands at something like -11 at the minute which means absolutely nowt to me!
Get rid.
 
Amend it definitely! All that needs doing is showing who has left the rep and it'd be fine! Would get rid of all the idiots who leave pointless neg rep.

Then again, it would be much easier to just ignore rep completely, it bears no consequence on your life (unless this forum is your life!)

no offence You'veBeenTiote'd and i do appreciate my rep from you, but which banner did you rep me for, if its the Sunderland one that is on here now i didnt do it lol

some ppl ask for the rep and they are giving it by the bucketloads, I even got neg repped on the toon board in the stupid mackems thread, i posted i got neg repped and i got positive repped back (which dont get me wrong was nice and everything, but the postitive rep totally outbumbered the neg rep, and i bet i only got the rep because i posted the neg rep, if i hadnt i wouldnt have got anything)

it should be on threads or posts really, like make a thread and it gets a 4 star rating from 50 members you get 1 positive rep, make a post and the post gets a 4 star rating from 75 members you get 1 point, but i suppose even then it can be abused because of the way rival supporters and those from general chat act.
 
TBH I have never looked at mine and no longer give it, dont see the point. If someone wants to call me an arsehole on a thread, many have, then fair enough. If they call me it on a rep on the off chance I see it then its their time they waste because see it I dont.

Can we get rid, no idea, you would have to ask Mick.
 
What i don't understand is, we know it's there and there is a high chance that someone has left a comment that may upset you.. BUT YOU STILL GO and LOOK.

Simple if easy offended stay away from it.

Agreed, as soon as they have to put their names to it they'll disappear like the spineless fools they are.
Besides if you get rid of it what will the barcodes do?
 
Don't give a monkeys about the rep thing. If I get -ve rep, do I care? Do I want to go around trying to get +ve rep? Do I buggery.

Bin it IMO. It just seems to be a facility for mags to pat each other on the back.

I hate sites being cluttered up with all these little bits & pieces anyway (that's just personal taste of course, we're all different, some people don't even like black pud ... soft southerners that is ;))

And it just gets abused all the time. MrRAWhite is a respected and prolific poster on these boards, yet is on -11 points! That's ludicrous and sums up why Rep doesn't work.
