Seriously, what makes you think anyone's gonna be spending it on you? You expecting a handout because it's Scotland's oil and you're Scottish? You seem to think you'll be personally richer in an independent Scotland. You might be right, but I wouldn't count on it if I were you.
I'm not counting on being better or worse off.
I'm counting on:
My countrymen not dying in American wars on the other side of the world
Unelected Anglican Bishops not voting on laws in my country
"Intermediate Technologies" the larger a country is, the less democratic it is.
Hopefully, not having WMDs on the river that runs by my maw's hoose
Developing a rounded energy policy based on being a lucky country with outstanding resources instead of it being dealt with by a boy's own club.
An actual secular country - not one with a religious oligarch as head of state.
A country where immigration is seen as a positive in the right circumstances.
A country where a universal health service and universal higher education are priorities.
A country where we can't be blamed for ****ing up the whole rest of the world.
Scratching the surface here and including a couple of hopeful things but, regardless of where everything goes, it's a no-brainer for me.
I keep telling people to read Small is Beautiful.
Read it.
Countries were never meant to be that big and, by their very nature, large countries are unable to look after the nuances of their varied populations. England should seek independence - you'd be far better catered for your own people rather than your crown dependencies and all that ****e.
