Should Scotland be an Independent Country?

  • Yes

  • No

Results are only viewable after voting.
Nationalism is the measles of mankind.

'tis that.

It's been entertaining to hear the guy with the union jack tattoo at work refer to people as "nationalist simpletons" over the past wee while.

I'm going to miss the referendum once it's happened.

Everycunt dropping their interest in politics and going back to being wrapped up in other ****e is going to be a bit pish.

The country feels like a debating house just now.

Then, in October, it'll go back to being a crack house.

Tried to civilise the natives but they were too busy getting their kids ****ed up the arse by the priests that the Jocks went onto the Americas and formed the institutions that created the bedrock for the greatest country the world had ever seen.
The Klan <confused>

So you're voting "yes" in the belief that an independent Scottish govt will be shelling out tax revenue collected from the petro-chemical industry, to improve the quality of your life? Good luck with that.

Better that than spending it on improving the south of England.

Due to my recent Passport loss fiasco I've decided I'm now going to switch my nationality and get a Manx Passport (seriously!).

Seriously, what makes you think anyone's gonna be spending it on you? You expecting a handout because it's Scotland's oil and you're Scottish? You seem to think you'll be personally richer in an independent Scotland. You might be right, but I wouldn't count on it if I were you.

Tbh the Scots are that careful with their money (tight) they will probably be the richest, best run country within a fortnight.

That is how a government works. They collect tax then spend it on the people.

With no trident to pay for and the oil revenue being spent on 5m as opposed to 70m people, the people of Scotland will be better off.

I commend your naivety in the first part Eric.

I'm not counting on being better or worse off.

I'm counting on:
My countrymen not dying in American wars on the other side of the world
Unelected Anglican Bishops not voting on laws in my country
"Intermediate Technologies" the larger a country is, the less democratic it is.
Hopefully, not having WMDs on the river that runs by my maw's hoose
Developing a rounded energy policy based on being a lucky country with outstanding resources instead of it being dealt with by a boy's own club.
An actual secular country - not one with a religious oligarch as head of state.
A country where immigration is seen as a positive in the right circumstances.
A country where a universal health service and universal higher education are priorities.
A country where we can't be blamed for ****ing up the whole rest of the world.

Scratching the surface here and including a couple of hopeful things but, regardless of where everything goes, it's a no-brainer for me.

I keep telling people to read Small is Beautiful.

Read it.

Countries were never meant to be that big and, by their very nature, large countries are unable to look after the nuances of their varied populations. England should seek independence - you'd be far better catered for your own people rather than your crown dependencies and all that ****e.

Well I don't want to improve the Central Belt so **** off.

And I can guarantee that Shetlanders and the Highlands and the western Isles don't either.

So put that in your pipe you ****in pretendy Oirisher.

I know a girl from Skye (Portree) and her dislike of the English is up there with the bitterest Belfast Republican.

She's voting for Scottish Independance.

Big diddies too.

<laugh>

Go for it again, Keirnan. Tell me what Scot invented the Klan. Every time I ask you this, **** all happens so I'll no doubt be disappointed again.

It's a well known fact ya fanny that people of Scots descent started the KKK. It's also known that a Scot residing in Canada who was a member of your beloved OO started the Canadian Klan.

Google is your life partner, Barrie.
