A date has been announced: Referendum to be held on 18 September 2014.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-21828424

Voters will be asked the yes/no question, "Should Scotland be an independent country?"

A quote from our own ST:
Aye, fight and you may die. Run and you'll live at least a while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take our freedom.

A quote from our own Medro:
Shove your independence up your erse.

Come the date, will we be unfazed or pissing ourselves as ST goes into meltdown?

225 days to go

Holding the election the day after the All Ireland Hurling final is a big mistake.

Is that because all the oirish-scotch will be to hungover to vote?

Nah..... I'll be honest, i haven't thought the reasoning through, but that won't be it.

The Irish in Scotland traditionally come from the northern counties where hurling ain't so strong. So there are only Gaelic Football clubs in Scotland as far as i know.

I guess i was thinking that hopefully i'd be at it, have the next day off work and get to watch the telly where hideous unintelligible oafs go to the polls to decide whether they want dominion status or not.

Great telly.

It's going to be a great day when that vote is held, will stock up on the wine and fine English ales and watch the result come in. TV gold I'm sure.

I can't wait for it to be over to be honest. I wonder if we'll get a referendum on whether we should vote in favour of Scottish accession to the EU? That could be a giggle

That must be the stupidest anti-independence rant ever made .

In an independent Scotland will ER still be a complete fanny ?

Yes

No need - the misguided will just say good riddance and the more level headed will hope that the Government (rather forlornly i fear) has a decent contingency plan in place as it is clearly expecting a no vote.

**** sake Dan . Wit has that got to do with Mick running a book on a yes vote ?

See this is why is scots need to get the **** away fea you numpty Nigels .
