Shetlanders want nothing to do with Scotland.

Speak to them and you'll find this is the case.

As MD says they consider themselves to be Norsk.

<laugh>

The Islands are Scotland's equivalent of the Bible Belt in America. Full of isolated nutters, religious crackpots and racists.

I know - and they sound like they're speaking Norwegian half the time<laugh>.

I mind going to the Cinema in Lerwick, can't remember what it was to see but half way through the film they had an intermission for 30 minutes then restarted the film in a completely different scene.

They all found it totally normal to stop and start a film at the cinema mind you...

They did that when I went to see 2001 A Space Odyssey at the Filmhouse a couple of years ago because that's what happened when it was originally released. They started it back up at the right place though.

I quite liked it. Meant you could go for a pish and buy a drink and not miss any of the film.

I have to say it and correct me if I'm wrong but are you the only hun on here that wants a yes vote and I may add it's refreshing to see(sorry 'bout hun bit)

ps You're still a Hun

Am still undecided. I would like an independent Scotland but av not fully made my mind up.

PS. Am still a Hun

Why the row about the currency? If you want to leave the UK that should also include leaving the currency behind. Scotland seem to think they can become independent then cherry pick the things they want. It's all in the word "Independence" - Do everything your ****ing self.

There are benefits to everyone if an independent Scotland was in a currency union with the UK. However, I agree with you. I don't want a currency union.

Currency currency currency . We already have one . There are millions of notes in circulation already .

What to call it though .

I know , lets call it the pound

The Daily Mail's going to have a field day in the run up to Glasgow 2014. You can pretty much guarantee there'll be an in depth piece comparing the "dilemna" of English competitors shaking Alec Salmond's hand to that of Berlin 1936 <doh> The daily Record of course will suggest that he makes sure he has a bottle of handwash with him for any such eventuality !
