Not bad. There is a point made in the article that I've made on several occasions, but have been disagreed with, on the whole. And that is that rival clubs, such as Liverpool see Southampton as a big thorn in their side and one apparently very easy way to blunt it is to weaken Saints every season by buying key players. Liverpool may have made huge errors acquiring some of our players, when they could have gone elsewhere and bought others just as good for cheaper money, but they are not such idiots that they don't realise that by taking the likes of Lambert, Lallana, Mane, etc... off our hands they buy the players that made the difference to us in a lot of games in the last few seasons. WHU couldn't do it because they couldn't afford to. ManU could and did. For a glamour club it's an easy way to strengthen their own options whilst deliberately weakening ours. Our players possibly weren't worth the money. But they were cheap if it meant that it kept us rebuilding and not moving forward at the pace we are capable of doing.
It's a game the glamour clubs play, and luckily so far, Liverpool are bad at it. That won't keep forever.
