The mods will have to regroup and rethink. That obviously wasn't thought through/explained very well.

Many a time I've logged in to see 4 or 5 new pages and expect to see an exciting rumour only for it to be pages of puns

Just want to add my voice to the "EH?" crowd with that one. Seems a very strange and misguided decision. If somebody has complained to the mods that there's too many unsubstantiated rumours in the...umm...rumours thread, then surely by weight of numbers there are far many more that appreciate the snippets from Beefy, DTLW et al - and to be honest their information is far more substantiated than that which you can pull a source for.

Nah, sorry mods, I love you all but you have this one terribly wrong.

Just to echo everyone above that seems a very strange decision regarding the transfer RUMOUR thread. Are we now deciding that the Sun etc. is more reliable than Beef/Dtlw? One of the joys of coming on forums during transfer windows is to find out info outside the mainstream media. Otherwise I would just check BBC Gossip (<doh>) every day, they have 'sources'.

I also don't see the reason for this? Has someone/people complained about this? If so are we going to be made aware of how many people have. Honestly don't see any benefits at all and hope it is either re-explained with more detail or there is a rethink.

P.S. Also agree with others that a much bigger problem is 4 pages of puns in the thread!!
