What worried me the most was Parsons saying that we’re negotiating contract extensions for a few players. What the hell. Can only think of 2 who would remotely be worthy of an extension, 1 Is Dibling which won’t happen, and possibly Charles as think he has 2 years remaining. Nobody else has done anywhere near enough to earn a contract extension.
Charles, I guess Ballard could be another.

This is the kind of thing that interests me to be fair. They’re not going to come out and discuss transfers in great detail, so it’s interesting to understand more about those kind of future plans. Did they go that in depth on it?

No, said it was all under negotiation currently and he hopes in a year’s time he can be in a position to speak openly about it all.

Also at the end AB said something along the lines towards JS of hoping the players will be in the door that we want and Spors just said “we will”

I personally think this could be make or break season for SR, with a large majority of the fan base. They have to show a bit of ambition over the next 3 weeks.

Parsons said about the things they have put in place for the entertainment and match day experience for the fans, where he needs to realise that virtually everyone of us gets our entertainment from the 11 players in the pitch winning games, running and scrapping for everything, and not ordering food and drink on a Macdonalds esq touch screen

TBF that is more on Spors. Parsons is he business side of operations.

But Parsons is part of the dream team that signs of Spors’ transactions.
Parsons did mention a couple of times about Spors’ accountability

What I didn't like about that answer was the question was basically about doing things for the fans and everything he spoke about which was 'for the fans" was actually something which made money for the club. It very much gives the impression that they're not interested in giving the fans any benefit unless the club make money from it also which is a **** attitude imo.

I understand he's trying to increase revenue but ultimately we're still a very rich business and it'd be nice to have a few token gestures to back up them saying they value the fans a lot. How much would a free scarf for everyone at one away game last season cost, 150k? Or the pin badges for STH's? Relatively speaking these are small sums and would go some way to repairing the relationship between club and fans.

I might have misheard this part as was doing something else but I think he also said something about fans expecting us to compete with the top 6 when highlighting the revenue differences? If he did say that it's ludicrous as I literally don't know a single fan who expects that.

Oh and I didn't like him talking about trying to drop season ticket prices this season (or something to that effect) and still don't agree with how they handled the DD stuff.

My season ticket is about £15 less than last season and £140 more than last time in the championship. It's a piss take really and if Saints wasn't borderline essential to helping me with staying clean off drugs and alcohol I reckon there's a good chance I'd have ****ed it off.

TBH I thought you were going to say ABK.

Nah I was being serious about Bazunu, don’t think he’s got long left and don’t think the club would want him leaving for nothing. Especially if they have plans for him to be number 1 this year.

Diaz was a joke of course, didn’t actually think of ABK. Taylor and Fraser were the other candidates

Just checked and he has 2 years left. Man City buy out option ends this year though, if anyone is worried

Ah yes, you're right; he had a 5 year contract in 2022.

Either way, you'd imagine he's prime for a new deal if the club still rate him highly enough.

Yeah for sure. If he is going to be number one and has some kind of comeback season where he looks good, then the club won’t want him going into next summer with only 1 year left and losing him cheap.

A one year extension sounds ideal if they are planning him as number 1, but doubt he goes for that. Does depend who else still rates him though, you’d assume his agent should know about that, maybe an extra year here could be appealing

I could not believe the moaning about the lack of a season ticket box with a pin badge! Please do not listen to that idiot and spend the money on players please!

I thought that was one of the better questions tbh, it wasn't specifically about the pin badge that was just one of a few examples. He also mentioned the removal of discounts etc.

His point as I understood it was the relationship between club and fans is lower than it has been for years and what are the club doing about it.
