A dig at Portsmouth but I think we won't laughing at the end of the season. Good to hear fans laying on about last season not being acceptable. They appear to be avoiding answering the questions properly.
Parsons just said only one out of 15 prompted sides have stayed up recently which is laughably inaccurate. All 3 stayed up the first time we went down. Not a big deal really but surely he should get facts right if he wants to use them to make a point.
I'm almost certain that questions are screened for 'friendly' ones to be asked. But yeah the vast majority were dreadful.
Blackmore does a good job and we have to remember that he’s talking on the radio and not just on YouTube, so he has to bring comments together. Parsons gives me Nathan Jones vibes.
The Jack Stephens one was not friendly! Haha. The one about PSR was absolutely pointless. Google it! What exactly do we need to know though?
It was good if you enjoy football being played on spreadsheets. Don't want to be overly negative, but it was all a bit pointless - lots of speaking in general terms and talking about the project.
Having been to these before and asked a question I can promise you there’s no screening. Just that there always seems to be a high proportion of numpties that turn up and ask their rubbish questions
Yeah true, and there was the one about SR's position too in the event of non promotion but the bloke asking wasn't too articulate so it possibly wasn't as impactful as it could have been.
I thought that both Spors and Parsons both came across very smug to be honest. Not entirely sure what there is to be smug about, but hey ho!
That's good to know, cheers. At least there wasn't a question about making things better for away fans this time! One interesting thing to come out is it sounds like they're hoping for concrete plans re stadium to be out there this time next year.
In fairness to Spors, he was the only non native speaker there, and I’m not sure how much of the nuance he was picking up - he was quite guarded as a result, understandably, plus it’s his first forum, so as much as anything I got the impression he was making sure he didn’t trip up, and wasn’t tripped up. I didn’t find him smug at all. I like the fact Parsons basically said that if you want one of our players, you can pay up or **** off.
Did they say whether that would be for increased capacity, or for the development of surrounding area?
Got the impression it was development. Parsons was at pains to point out that PSR is going to change to a % of revenue, so we really need to get our revenues up if we have any hope of competing at the top level. It’s not what fans want to hear/are interested in, but it’s incredibly important (and is also why fans would be awful owners).
Turned it off after the question “you can’t seriously be going into a season with Diaz and Fraser as wide options?!?” Did they say that they are only signing youth to sell on or that we are signing 27 players for Goztepe? Asking for a friend
What worried me the most was Parsons saying that we’re negotiating contract extensions for a few players. What the hell. Can only think of 2 who would remotely be worthy of an extension, 1 Is Dibling which won’t happen, and possibly Charles as think he has 2 years remaining. Nobody else has done anywhere near enough to earn a contract extension.
There’s definitely a conflict of interests among many of the fans who want us to win every game this season and go up but aren’t willing to accept the result is another season struggling at the bottom of the PL.
This is the kind of thing that interests me to be fair. They’re not going to come out and discuss transfers in great detail, so it’s interesting to understand more about those kind of future plans. Did they go that in depth on it?
