Isn't it six yard strikers that are crucial though, Lee Chapman in 1992 when Leeds won the last Div 1 title. He did **** all apart from keep knocking the ball in the net from the six yard box

Adam Blackmore's take on the season is interesting...

For me at would have to be TP up top. I know he has been lambasted on here but 4 prem goals from 9 starts ain't bad. If you pro rata for a season ( and I know it doesn't work like that) but I think you easily have 10-15 goals in the season. Archer has 2 from 12 starts
I don't remember anyone saying the club had no choice. As I remember it, we were told he wanted to move back home (was he about to have a child?) and pushed hard for the move and that, after all he'd done for the club, the management didn't think they should stand in his way.We were always led to believe that the club had no choice with Romeu. Turns out that was bullsh*t. What a f*cking terrible decision that was.
No doubt. But I just get smatterings of "sometimes people fail to appreciate my genius" about him the whole time. And despite all the metrics you want saying otherwise, also believing he was slightly hard done by.
Never change, Russ (he won't).

If I remember correctly Phil had a pretty good season circa 1980, wasn't he close to 30 goals?I'm thinking Ted MacDougall, brilliant from 6 yards. He had Phil Boyer to do his running.
Just checked it 23 league goals from 42 games and league leading scorer and could hardly get a game next season due to arrival.of KKIf I remember correctly Phil had a pretty good season circa 1980, wasn't he close to 30 goals?
I do think he was SLIGHTLY hard done by. He could and for me should have had some better results - **** VAR. having said that, listening to Lineker rattling off his records for passes almost had me nodding off just remembering it. He should have challenged that philosophy because having bednarek and thb on the ball for an hour is worthless if we can’t manage to form a shooting chance. I don’t understand how he could still believe that there was no better way to approach this season.
Lineker seemed to think he could do a job with better players. I have to say that I think he might be right. In hindsight sacking him was a failure and I am disappointed in myself for wanting him gone. It made naff all difference and next season we will be rolling the dice instead of going in with stability and continuity.
I’d rather take the punt with someone new (though may live to regret that).
Not that I'm impatient or anything but I'd really like to know when our game at Goodison is kicking off so I can sort travel and accommodation.
As it is you, they will probably say they are keeping it as it is, then VAR will come in and move it to Monday night![]()

No idea if this is legit or not but:Just think it's taking the piss a bit if not announced today. It was originally meant to be last week and the match is 5 weeks away - we'd normally have released ticket details by now.
