It is a pretty ropey team. You would expect it to be made up of players almost entirely from the top four. Leicester only have two players in it - and I would actually say Rotherham's keeper should have got one of those places. Adam Armstrong contributed to the most goals of any player this season but can't get in. How are Sara and Whittaker in there? Can't really argue with Szmodics.

Whittaker has only one goal less than Adarma, while playing for bottom-half Plymouth. Absolutely deserves his place.

Manning didn't rate Whittaker at Swansea so loaned him out to (then first div.) Argyle then sold him to Argyle for the princely sum of £1m.

Manning, or Martin?

How do you know Martin didn't rate him? It's fairly standard practise to loan youngsters out.

Seems the story is that Whittaker wasn't happy about being recalled from loan halfway through the season (since Plymouth were in a title chase I guess), and at the end of the season he demanded to leave.

Big team bias. Apparently playing for big team like Saints gives you an advantage in goal scoring. Apparently?

Just seen that Mara could be suspended for 3 games for an incident off the ball v Watford. Awaiting a verdict by the FA. Apparently he hit Porteous? Seems to have gone unnoticed if so as not seen mention of it until now.

So we scored in the 9th minute of injury time when there was only 7 added. The goal was handball and we should’ve had a player sent off. Can see why Watford were pissed off

Injury time is always a minimum of whatever they put up so might be frustrating for them, but nothing wrong with it. I've still yet to see an angle of the handball that makes me think it was a clear and obvious error. It looks like it hit him on the arm at close range with his arm down by his side, not sure that would have been overturned if we were in the PL with VAR. Haven't seen the Mara incident, but if he did punch a Watford player (no idea when it was in the game), then yeah he should have been sent off but a ref can't give what they can't see and as it was an off the ball incident you can't blame him for not seeing it.

“There will be a Minimum of x minutes stoppage time” is announced at the end of every match, every week for years now. And people still don’t get it. Even we would get frustrated and fans yell for the whistle

it’s a bad system. There should be either a stopped clock or a consistent amount of time added for certain incidents (or even a proportional one depending on what happens). Or both. And actually have time added back in stoppage time be added back on the stadium screen. Wouldn’t work for smaller teams but in lots of games and on tv it will be shown. And maybe people will get it ?

Mara is clearly being played in a position that doesn't suit him. He replaces Armstrong and plays out on the right until Martin takes Adams off and then he moves central. He's been most effective when we were chasing a goal and he's played centrally with a strike partner.
