Especially in the case of Liverpool and Bayern - two seasons of improvement could well take him out of their budgets since they don’t tend to bid absolutely mega money - as in a world record (VVD and Nunez appear to be outliers). Liverpool’s primary focus this coming summer seems like it would be midfield

Would be nice to sell a player straight to one of the true European elite (and notably not Liverpool for a change). Going from Saints to Real or Bayern without a step in between would be a hell of a statement

In fairness, those rumours aren't coming from reputable sources. It's just random reaction to him being called up.
 
Interestingly, since falling form 3rd from bottom in Transfermarkt's PL squad value league, after the sale of Redders and loan of Jan, we've now shot up to a heady 13th. Due to Gavin, Romeo and Sekou values being dramatically hiked, along with the price Aribo, ABK, Che and Moussa steadily rising.

Also comfortably the youngest squad in the league if you exclude Willy.

Were we really as low as third bottom? They did drastically undervalue pretty much all our new signings. And Redmond was bizarrely in at something like 16m which is odd to me because the site certainly seems to factor in time left on the contract

How frequently do they even do updates? Is it at the end of transfer windows or more frequently ?

They had Jan and Nathan at combined value of £36m, losing that figure from our total automatically adjusted our squad's valuation below Forest two weeks ago. They seem to randomly miss out the contract length based valuation on some players. Player values are usually updated twice a year.
 
As it was John Fashanu's birthday yesterday I thought it might be opportune to watch this clip as he tried to get past Frannie Benali.

Frannie gets a little stick for being all heart but little skill so watch how deftly he takes the ball from Fashanu's toes; Fashanu barely notices he's been dispossessed.
