I'm going to be a bit different because there are so to choose from, here are my top 3 favourite Saints players in each position in order and not necessarily the best players.

GK: Shilts, SKD, Flowers
D: Jose, Claus, Franny
M: Matty, Steve Williams, Spike Armstrong
A: King Kev, SRL, Mick Channon

Managers, Lawrie Mac, WGS, Chris Nicholl

These might not have been the best to have ever played for Saints but sometimes you just like a player.

Goalkeeper. Antti Niemi. Pushed Shilton close for best ever but Antti made his name with us whereas Shilts was already a star when he came.

Defender. Jos Hooiveld. Jos definitely falls into the "not the best to have ever played for Saints" category but for me he always seemed to enjoy himself, gave his all and scored goals.

Midfielder. Le Tiss. This one shouldn't even be up for discussion, simply the best player to have ever played for Saints (including Keegan).

Forward. Ron Davies. No doubt there have been better forwards at Saints but no-one could head a ball better than Ron Davies. If Terry Paine could get the ball over to Ron it was nearly always a goal. Div 1 top scorer with 37 (!) league goals in his debut season and joint top scorer (with George Best) the following season with 28 goals. Once scored all four Saints goals at Old Trafford.
