So flat at the moment. The team, the performances, the fans, everything.
I've never called for a manager sacking before, it feels dirty. But I have not seen anything from him that suggests he can solve this. The players have not bought into him, the board have not invested in him, and he just seemed like a strange fit from the first day. The games start coming thick & fast now, & the table is starting to take shape. Time seems like an enemy, & we are entering a very dangerous period. And the more thought I give it, the less I can think of a suitable replacement to steady this ship of ours.
De boer, fat sam, Pulis.......ffs might as well get Mark Wotte back & sleep walk into the champ. We are in a proper pickle.
(sorry, it was a rant or nothing this morning & I rolled the dice)

Perhaps Fonte had just got fed up....happens to everyone....been at a place so long that there is no excitement left. He didn't fancy a couple of years drifting into retirement. West Ham may be a sideways move, but he got a better contract and he fancied a change. He probably had faith in his own abilities as well, so he didn't expect the hard time he has had.

Not to start the debate again but I still firmly believe that there was wrong on both sides in he acted like a bit of a twat but it was handled badly by the board.

That's all done now, but the thing I find interesting about this is that I seem to remember Rickie alluding to things not being overly right at the club at some point and that it would all come out one day - paraphrasing there.

Wonder if now that he's retired that we might hear his take in the next few years.

Can't see the tweet, is it about Virgil? We will probably have a replacement in the 17 shirt in 2018!

It was a tweet showing Romeo and Lemina doing a signing with a board behind them showing all the Saints shirts in numerical order but there was no number 17 which obviously is VVD. The tweet seems to have been removed. :emoticon-0126-nerd:

As I now live in London I would love to but inevitably it's boxing day when I plan to be back in Southampton over Christmas for a few days!

Bloody would be wouldn't it? <laugh>

12:30 is such a **** ko time for boxing day too. I won't be risking driving at that time in the morning so will probably give it a miss.

Watford might be next away game now, well after Bournemouth next week.

I'm thinking of Watford as well... Meet up if we both go?

If you want fella <ok>

Not 100% sure if I'm going yet. Probably depends on if I go overboard on Christmas presents or not... Might even end up driving it so going sober.

We'll have a chat nearer the time mate <cheers>
