We were having a discussion about what people from Portsmouth have been called over the years and my mate reckons that people in Southampton would have called them Pompeyites in the 1940s. Not coming from Southampton I don't know. Is this true?
 
The response on the Echo site = He would say that! = That's how bad the site has got.

Well to look at it from another point of view as club we've certainly got a track record of club employees saying one thing and then almost immediately doing the opposite, or the opposite happening, so I can understand the uber-cynics.

I'll just take it at face value - if it then proves he's full of it I'll just sigh.
