Can't really blame Mike Dean. It was just unfortunate that the ball didn't go out of play. And our penalty shout wasn't nearly as obvious as the one City got today. Ours didn't meet the standard of clear and obvious that is needed to overturn the onfield decision.
It's still all down to opinion and obviously I disagree about our penalty not being obvious, in hindsite it was, but it's history now so I dismiss it and move on to the next fiasco, Mr Coote I believe did the Newcastle defeat but wasn't in any way responsible for us losing that one!
I don't know if this was picked up by anyone else but that looks to me like PEH intends on signing that new contract.
They're different people but yeah, it's obviously not a guarentee. But it does show that right now at least he is positive about his future here otherwise why make that comment.
Yeah but Lallana had the opportunity to move onto a much bigger club, I’m not sure Hojbjerg will. Everton maybe
That is a weakness of the VAR system which many people on here were saying even before it was brought in. If our shout for a penalty on Saturday was seen as valid, what on earth would the officials have done? The next stop in play was after Liverpool had put the ball in our net, would they (the officials ) have disallowed their goal and then awarded us a penalty? Of course, all the above is hypothetical. Our appeal would never be given or a Liverpool goal disallowed but let's just pretend.
They're never going to rule out a home goal to give a penalty to the opposition at Anfield or Old Trafford.
Dermot says no penalty, but Longs effort was. Didn't mention the back pass either. I was confused about what he said about Referees can't stop a game until the ball goes out of play, yet it happens a lot when it suits them?
Yeah that was always going to be an issue as many of us pointed out beforehand. I've said a couple of times this season that if I was a manager then I'd tell players that if there's an appeal then keep the ball in play as long as possible as they won't look at it properly. As for Dermot he's an absolute waste of space and stealing a living. He's also completely wrong about this because as you mentioned, it happens quite regularly.
Unless PEH signs a new contract this summer he will, have to be sold before entering his final year but if the clubs want to pay the suggested £35m then I wouldn’t be too depressed tbh
Can probably halve that in the summer if it is common knowledge that he isn’t signing a new deal. How much did Eriksen go for in the end with 6 months left?
https://www.footballfancast.com/pre...rg-hasenhuttl-saints-contract-instagram-viral Don't know how much to read into this, but Hojbjerg dropped a hint that he wished to stay.
I think it would benefit him to stay. Sure, he could command more money with the contract winding down as it is, but sign another deal, put in a shift and he'll have a choice of top clubs to go. As it stands right now, he is not good enough to get a top four club, but they may well buy him on the cheap, just because they can. Don't be a drinkwater, be a drinkchampagne........
Yep agree with this, he still has a little bit in his game to improve to really hit the top level. Hes still young enough that he can do that with us. I guess it depends if he'd rather be a big player for us, or a squad player for a big side
It will depend on how much we offer him compared with how much any potential suitor will pay him plus any signing on fee Definition of a big club is they pay more than we do and thats quite a few
