There's no way that we spent that on Walcott. And no way Walcott is worth that. He's a soon-to-be 29 year old with eighteen months remaining on his deal, and few games under his belt this season...half that is reasonable. If we were willing to drop £30m on an attacker, there are far better options available.

Anyone excited about a 29 yo ex player returning on £110K a week on a four year deal must really be feeling the pressure. Outrageous, and not even the player we crave. We are desperate for a target man, not another runner who we don't trust in the box. Hope this is all smoke n mirrors.

Saw Sparv mention playing alongside Virgil...forgot he was at Groningen at the same time. Football's a weird old sport, where the Finn from the academy of an English club can help a Danish team beat both his old side and his former teammate in Holland.
One little piece of thanks I will give Virgil is he kept alive our home european record. Not sure when that will be tested again. But we get to keep it.

I would be a little more relaxed with a few months on loan to be honest as I don't trust his injury record or desire to work hard to play every week
