I got £30 on at 11/2. The posters on here are probably the reason why the SkyBet odds are now down to 3/1 <laugh>

That reminds me of when everyone on here was ****ting themselves when Paul Hart was favourite to be our manager post Pardew, before it was explained that in a market such as a league 1 clubs next manager... it was probably a skate chucking £20 on that made him favourite <laugh>

Yeah, some people don't get odds. You will only know something is up when the odds are not worth putting on.

That's why I always get nervous when I see a big odds swing before there are rumours on here. Like when the odds on Atkins being replaced by Poch nosedived before anyone here thought it was more than a random rumour...we couldn't have had time to cause that.

A lot of information gets leaked though, like a big chain. Family tell friend -> tells friend -> etc.

I made like £800 when villa sacked Paul lambert, as I heard about it when the odds were still really high. Just have to know someone who knows someone :)

If he's not an out and out striker, perhaps he fulfils both some of the scoring and creating issues?

Anyone know if he makes goals too?

Not a very good passer from what I remember, no idea about crossing, but he can make things happen. I mean, he can play as a striker, but the optimal formation for him would probably be a 4-3-3 with him wide and a creative player on the opposing side, and a good (and mobile) striker, so he can make runs and effectively serve as a second striker when the ball isn't at his feet.

Most football fans of any club should realise that what a player does at his last club, particularly one he wants to leave or want him to leave, can often have no bearing on what he will do at your club.

I believe it was Villa supporters who said Bertrand was crap when we signed him and Kelvin was apparently not even a footballer when he signed for Saints. Although they are not world-beaters they didn't turn out too bad for us.

So, as I'm sure others have said, should he sign this might be the kick on, the new scene, that refreshes his verve and so forth.

Therefore, should he sign, I will give him more than a fair chance.

Having said that I cannot see him making an immediate impact no matter how good he is or how 'stoked' he is at a new club. We'll be very lucky if he does, so don't expect any trees to be uprooted in the next month or more.

His hold-up play is meant to be pretty good, so maybe he'll have an immediate & positive knock-on effect for Long, etc.

<laugh>........Have we signed someone yet?........beat you to it CBK..........

Edit .....oh bugger he was on the other thread 16 minutes ago............I'll get me coat.......

Hardly prolific is he...

He's prolific on a per-minute basis; scores goals over his career at a rate that, if he starts the majority of games and scores at that pace, would translate to 15+ goals a season. It's just a question of whether that will translate in a larger role, because he hasn't been a regular starter in his three seasons with Napoli.
