Most football fans of any club should realise that what a player does at his last club, particularly one he wants to leave or want him to leave, can often have no bearing on what he will do at your club.

I believe it was Villa supporters who said Bertrand was crap when we signed him and Kelvin was apparently not even a footballer when he signed for Saints. Although they are not world-beaters they didn't turn out too bad for us.

So, as I'm sure others have said, should he sign this might be the kick on, the new scene, that refreshes his verve and so forth.

Therefore, should he sign, I will give him more than a fair chance.

Having said that I cannot see him making an immediate impact no matter how good he is or how 'stoked' he is at a new club. We'll be very lucky if he does, so don't expect any trees to be uprooted in the next month or more.

He hasn't been bad with Napoli, in any instance. For a guy who hasn't played as an out-and-out striker all the time, his per-minute scoring rate is actually very good: one goal every 190 minutes over seven years. Pelle's goal rate as a full-time striker and focal point was 1 per 237 minutes with Saints.

He just can't get starts because Napoli's forward line has been loaded, and they don't rotate in the league.

you tube shows he seems to play on the right and is not the main striker.

I don't think Fonte will stay. It's more a case of 'when' he goes than 'if,' from what I've been told!

Backed gabbiadini at 6/1 though. Fingers crossed!

Austin is still our main striker. As others have said, he is more a before injury Jay.
