Mind you lads there are good people over on RTG. I am a surviving bowel cancer patient and the support I received was very good. That’s how I got to know foggy. I admit there are times it drives me up the wall but I have been a board member for many years and overall there are more good people than WUMs. I have never understood why there is so much anti ITKs feeling. I love the titbits and gossip and if things change that happens. I am like Grumpy on RTG an accountant and I fully understand how deals change (from experience too many times!!!)

No doubt about it.

I know Gav and I know he has a “fanzine” to edit and put content out there but he shouldn’t be peddling this ****e
It should never have had the credibility for the likes of Tom and Roker Report to pickup.

How it should have gone was CM and SD completed the basic due diligence on the group, saw the absolute lunacy of the business model, lack of experience and bankruptcies behind the group and left it at that.

The group could have contacted Tom all they liked but without that all important “come on” from SD and CM Tom would have wished them luck and dismissed them.

Nothing much new here but it does explain where Tom is coming from.

The gist is they contacted Tom early days with their intentions, he kinda wrote them off until he saw them in the board room / at matches and confirms that KLD seemingly doesn’t want these shares (which could be a buyers power play to show he doesn’t really want them but he will take them off your hands sorts thing)

at that stage, as a journalist I could have broken that

"as a journalist"

:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Does sitting in front of an autocue looking pretty make you a journalist these days?

There you go. That's the danger or Tom using RR to try and justify his claims.

The echo have ran the same piece , bouncing off the RR report. That's now the common fan, who may not use other media and still believe the echo, going into a frenzy.
It’s just journalism. It’s a murky world and both have entered it and sold their soul. Truth is second to clickworthy stories in that world.

RR's own response to the first letter about TFT....

"The FTF deal is dead on arrival - as far as we can tell there is no money, and not even a relevant legal structure - behind them."

This is what happened the other day as well. Roker Report do a big article on John Reece (ffs) and then the Echo start reporting that Roker Report have done it.

I really like the content they do, and I sympathised massively with them on the Dell stuff. But this last 10 days from them with both Reece and now this have stunk of wanting to get "Exclusives" and not actually thinking about whether what they're putting out is right.

I guess we aren't always going to agree with them editorially though, and they are presenting the thoughts on a known journalist / TV host, so they've not done anything wrong. I just don't agree with the way its being presented by them.

RR not coming out well in all this, click bait headlines then comments like that.

Hardly helpful in the current climate

I have no problem with running a story but it should have an editorial position clearly written and prominently displayed as per the response to the fan letter.

exactly - this is my point.

I mean in that article Tom White basically brushes aside KLD's statement as lies. Which itself is a bigger story than anything Tom White is saying.

Tom White has done nothing wrong EXCEPT provide a subsequent follow up to his tweet etc saying he finds the whole thing bonkers and unlikely to come off.

The fact he hasn't done that, and is now doubling down with it at Roker Report, is what is causing this hysteria.

Him reporting it and then not dismissing it as nonsense (probably because he's holding out for it coming through so he gets credibility), is what is giving this way more credibility than it deserves.

For whatever reason I get to talk to various people who know a lot more, about the club, than I do. I try to sort the wheat from the chaff, before I post, and not to get too excited or biased. Sometimes I'm told contradictory things about the same subject which complicates things ...

... so there's my disclaimer, here's what I currently think.

I said a few weeks ago that KLD is the most likely buyer of Donald's shares. Done in a few days, no due ligence or EFL checks ... easy.

That leaves Methven absolutely stranded. He's independent of Donald who can sell his shares to whomsoever he chooses ... obviously based on the EFL and a potential veto from KLD. Methven could end up with shares that are of no great importance or interest to anyone.

I'd guess that Methven, who seems to guide Donald to an extent, has been inviting people to matches and making sure the likes of Tom White are aware. He'll have done this knowing it will not only 'leak out' but push KLD's buttons.

As he'll have expected Methven will see supporters, on social media, demanding to know why KLD doesn't just buy the shares. While that might appease the fans, from KLD's view that means caving in to the pressure from those two and accepting whatever idiotic price they've come up with. If people chose to believe he's not committed to the club, or would have to ask his mam for an advance on his allowance, that's up to them ... however it makes them look a little naive imo.

The fact is KLD doesn't need the shares and won't be played by people he openly insulted when he bought a controlling interest in the club. I've no doubt that none of this nonsense will impact on the plans he has for next season. He's put serious people around him, and on the board, who aren't the kind to be used as pawns in a daft game.

Tom White is the wrong person, to be commenting, but he's been put in his place by KLD. Roker Report puzzle me though, at times you'd swear they're run by Mags but are, most likely, just as naive as any other supporters. That includes me who hears gossip I like and believes it.

I'm sure there's a credible buyer, aligned with KLD and Sartori, but they're not going to be pressured into buying by the likes of Methven who's in the worst position of anyone. The supporters, myself included, want Donald and the other stain on the club out ASAP. But there's no rush for KLD, he can just ignore them and whichever other circus acts they invite to games.

I've allowed myself to become whipped up with all this and it's time to stop, take a break and wait for the transfer window ...

... exactly what I'd expect KLD, Neil and the club to be doing.

RR stirring it up, desperate for clicks.
